Can you guess the lighting used to produce these beautiful nugs??

Are you insinuating they weren't ready to harvest? 20% trichomes were Amber...they were a day past 9 weeks..maybe you know something I don't? Please explain

You did a lot better than most people on their first try. HPS lights are actually pretty damn cheap especially if you buy a used ballast/hood and put a new bulb in. Or those cute little 150W for 77$ on amazon look like they would be perfect for micro grows.

If you must count weeks of flowering by a specific number then always and I mean ALWAYS add 2 weeks into the breeders recommended flowering time.


Flowering responses don’t automatically switch the plant into flowering because we’ve switched our lights to 12/12.

The plant still continues to veg growth for 7-21 days after you flip to 12/12.

Flowering realistically doesn’t begin until you start to see pistils forming in clusters.

Trichs on the sugar leaves will mature much faster than the buds themselves....

Agreed, on my second grow I didnt check thrics until after my plants were dry and they were perfect!

So possibly about 2 weeks left to go based on how they look in this pic.

Chalk it up to experience. You’re harvest will still do the job and you done a good thing keeping it healthy it seems.

So next time hold out just that little bit longer you won’t regret it.

Yes I would have let those go longer. You can still see quite a few new pistils in that picture. But you did a decent job using CFL's. In the future you need to remember that the breeder times for flowering can be highly inaccurate. Especially with so much of the stuff out there having so many different phenotypes because they are just F1 crosses of other crosses. Not bred out to stabilize properly. Use the breeder times as a guideline only because more often than not you'll need to grow longer than the time stated.

I was noticing the new pistils still coming in, and I had the thought that maybe they weren't ready, but my Google searches led me to believe if I had trichs turning Amber they were ready...all very good info, thanks again guys, notes taken.

Trichs on leaves amber much earlier than trichs on buds.
