Clone or a clone of a clone

If you crack a seed then make a clone then a clone of that clone and so on is it the exact same plant or does each time you clone you lose a little something?

Been growing a ? Skunk x freezeland clone only from a buddy and he has to re do his shit every 5-6 yrs for sure cuz the genetics get weaker after cloning on clone for so long.. just don’t have that seedling vigor n growth pattern potency etc in that order actually is how it degenerates.. the f2 f3 cuts should have a lot more life to them then a 10th gen.. depending on who the owners are and how they make cuts an take care of em will b the answer to the longevity of it I suppose

After so many generation ur genetics weaken yes, but not til f5 er so
F5 stands for "Fifth Generation", and is a term relative to breeding the cannabis plant, and has absolutely nothing to do with clones. Taking a clone from a clone doesn't make the second clone an F2.

Also, genetics do not "weaken". A clone is an exact copy of the original genetics. It doesn't matter how many times you clone from a clone of a clone.

Tbh through experience im inclined to agree i used to think genetic drift was a bigger thing but now i think less so than we used to think cos knowing what we know about plant viruses and pathogens these days it seems to be there probably responsible for the loss of vigour more so than serial cloning dont get me wrong not every plant may be able to take it as much as others but time has shown with some strains at least serial cloning aint the worst thing you could do

According to my buddy who been doing it for 20+ yrs n clones 1000s a year, he says every 6-7 yrs he has to switch up his line due to sumthing

Ur rite Im a big fan of cloning I jus figured the genes would eventually weaken and as a grower for 13 yrs now and hung around wit veteran growers since I was 16-17 I’m 27 now , I’ve heard of cloning on clones for way too long and the growth patterns started to weaken and slower growth n potency altogether so restart from seed, maybe it was 8-9 yrs of doing that who knows all I do know is he wouldn’t lie to me and I used to move pounds for the dude and noticed the potency wasn’t there any more

Day 6 flower for the 3 Gorilla Zkittlez n 3 8-Ball Kush , day 5 fer the 3 blue cheese.. already stacking on pretty hard
I was thinking of stopping the advanced nutrients regiment on a few of my bigger ones and the last feed I do rite afterwards top dress with Gaia green dry ammendments cuz it takes a few watering to kick in rite. I should b able to water after my nutrient watering and top dress without the top dress kicking in until few watering later when they run out of advanced ??

U read way to much shit on the internet bud, there is a way to preserve any clones actual potent genes yeah through tissue work n all that but u can’t just simply clone on clone on clone forever and expect mad potency way down the line dude with no serious knowledge
