Lanky seedlings?

New here, this is my 3rd grow but 1st time trying to do it right with some good genetics and looking for better results. All autos, pineapple Express, Magnum and 1/4 pounder. Germinated in paper towel and transfered to a coca coir/soil mix that i will be using for grow medium. Seeds sprouted quickly in paper towel and transferred to the medium after a day. Seedings popped through after just another day. Now 3 days in and they a looking healthy but a bit lanky/stretched. Just have a small cfl on them while they get established before i plan to move under my 1000w (equiv) LED + T5s. Thoughts? Get em under the bigger lights asap? TIA

How far away do you have your light? CFL's should be like 2-4 inches from plants they dont put out much light. I sprout under a "1500w" led (260 real watts) and keep it anywhere from 36''-48'' away from them and lower it as they grow.

So I've got the light about 6" away right now. So could i inch it closer for sure. Or maybe I'll just get them under the 1000w sooner than later.

Yeah they arent super stretched by any means my first try i had sprouts that were 6'' long and laying down. They recovered. Just make sure you have your led up high enough. 36'' is usually about right for sprouts. Maybe start at 48" just to be safe.

they look fine. they're just still babies. they'll stretch and start to fall over if light is too far away.. but it looks fine.

Many thanks,

Many thanks, i feel a bit better about it now.. Was mostly surprised how quickly they grew in just a couple of days, dont want them to
I'd use your t5 for now instead of the cfl.
Ya I'm going to move it under my grow lights and give them more light now. They're looking pretty healthy otherwise, just got a little freaked how quickly they started gaining height only a few days in.

Good idea to get them under better lights now. Also, I keep my t5 about 2" from my plants when I use it, but I'm using quantum boards right now for veg.

Just an update. Put them under the bigger lights and trying to warm them up a bit. Not much change but they've straightened up, and the stems are darkening. I thinkafter they spouted i let them get too cold one night and they stalled a bit. But they seem happier now.

Turned into this.....

Averaged about 3oz off each of those autos.

At one point almost every single one of them was laying down....

Nice, i hope I can get results like that! I'll give them another day or so and get them in their grow pots. Thanks again.

Yeah id get them in their final pot ASAP as long as you dont damage them doing so. 5 out of 3 dentists recommend starting autos in their final pot. Transplanting autos is generally not a good idea. That was my very first grow. Had somewhat of a clue how to do it all but I also got lucky with a few things.

Figured I'd give an update and see if anyone had any more thoughts? They've been in their final pots for about 4.5 days now, 10-11 days from sprouting. Definitely looking better overall and just starting to show signs of their 3rd set of leaves now. Been giving them a heavy watering every 2 days with a light nutrient mix (2, lightly misting the top occasionally to keep the coco from drying out too much. Current concerns are they've been a bit droopy and I'm thinking they are looking a little light colored in general? Trying to figure out how much water to give them moving forward and whether I'm over/under doing it with nutrients.

For reference. Haven't watered in over 24hrs at this point, just misted the top.
