Coronavirus? What's the big deal?

Go home and die.

Someone just posted this was announced....

From Al Jazeera: Hospitals in Milan, Italy are full. People are being told to stay home.
Caught that news at the news break at the top of the hour.
Most people who are sick should stay home. Not just Italy. Hospitals are terrible places to try to get well. The only people who should go or be there are the people who must have treatment that can only be done in the hospital.

The last mile between the hospital and a person's home is where the real work should be applied to figure out how to help others during an epidemic. Going forward, that is. Not now, but after this whole thing dies down.

Bigger picture: We keep cutting and cutting spending and cut into systems that took a long time to build. The cuts only stop so when the system is so badly broken that a disaster strikes. This is true whether it be medical systems or the aviation regulatory agency (737 max '8). Fuck Wall Street's MBA style of management.

Vitamin D can help to ward of viral infections and daily supplementation is being recommended by experts. Older people produce a lot less vitamin D from sunshine than younger people do. Some groups are more vulnerable than others, like this nugget from Goggle.
The risk for deficiency in vitamin D is substantial among African Americans and other ethnic groups with dark complexions. The elderly, people with sedentary lifestyles, and those who regularly wear clothes that cover most of the body also have an elevated risk for vitamin D deficiency.

Trump is reportedly "adjusting" his schedule after being exposed to the virus at cpac. He is canceling events and stepping back from personal encounters.

So if it's a hoax, he must be the biggest coward ever.

Some of you are so narrow minded youve gotta be closet Trump supporters. We can revisit this in another year if the fear alone hasn't killed you. I'm a couple of years from SSI. The vaccine for this will not be developed in the public sector because there is no motivation. Any revelations will come from big Pharma or their handler Mckesson where untold wealth awaits. Wash your hands and use an N95 mask not a cute little yellow hospital mask and hide yourself away. You may be able to escape it. While the world focuses on this dip in the road the famine in Somalia and the Rohingan refugees, global warming and the rest play second fiddle. Soft and malleable. Just like Trump wants. No wonder Trump is so successful. There are just too many of you whose goal is to be a serf. We're in trouble

I'm just messing around guys. I asked for it and I got it. My politics are firmly left of center but hopefully if I was a Republican I would want Trump out of office enough to step across the isle. Initially I was genuine in my post I just got rattled when it was suggested I was a Trump supporter because I detest the man.
As far as the race to the office goes for the Democrats go I don't believe Bernie stands a chance. He has some decent ideas but he also has a few goals that mainstream Democrats are not ready for. Were probably not ready for Biden either but he's probably the most electable candidate. Again I apologize for being rude but the responses were a little harsh as well. I still think COVID is not going to be anywhere near as bad as being predicted by some. I'm entitled to my opinion and I'm entitled to being wrong as well and the same goes for all of you.
PS. You can't badger and demean a Trump supporter because they still support him regardless of anything he has done.
I am saying UNCLE and I hope that's acceptable.

It's not your fault, the trolling gets really intense after years of Russians/Saudi/etc trolls constantly spamming every comment section online. These people have been dealing with it and tend to attack first and continuously until real people show their belly or it turns out that they were right and it was just another sock puppet account for a troll.

ursing home with coronavirus outbreak reported shocking escalation from 'no symptoms to death
The epicenter of Washington state's coronavirus outbreak has a disturbing status update.

Life Care Center of Kirkland, Washington, outside of Seattle, has seen 15 of its residents die after contracting COVID-19, and dozens of its workers haven fallen ill. The center's remaining 55 residents are going to be tested for the virus, and while only six of them are currently sick, that doesn't necessarily mean good news, The New York Times reports.

As the Times put it, Life Care "had seen some residents go from no symptoms to death in just a matter of a few hours." "It was surprising and shocking to us that we have seen that level of escalation from symptoms to death," said Tim Killian, a spokesperson for the nursing home. Efforts to contain the spread from Life Care aren't going well either, seeing as 70 of the center's 180 workers were out sick as of Sunday, but "there weren't enough test kits yet for them," the Times reports. Three of those workers had been hospitalized, and one of them tested positive for COVID-19.

It's important to note Washington state has reported just three deaths from the new coronavirus that weren't tied to the nursing home. Life Care is home to people who are elderly or recovering from illnesses, so those who died likely had weaker immune systems and were more susceptible to COVID-19. "Kids and adults have done extremely well in terms of recovery so far," Dr. Jeremy Faust, an emergency medicine doctor at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, notes to ABC News.
