Coronavirus? What's the big deal?

What's the big deal. It doesn't appear to be particularly virulent. Not many people are dying and the ones that do already have compromised respiratory issues and are in their late 60s and 70s. Most people struck down by it don't even know they were sick. Oregon had to go to a nursing home to highlight the dangers of COVID-19. Why the overreaction and panic? It ain't no big thing.
If you ever wanted to go on a cruise or travel to an exotic location now is the time. It's not gonna kill you and the prices are so good you'll never see anything like it again.
Note: The human race will probably go extinct as a result of a virus, plague or pox but it's sure as shit not this one.
I saw this old clip of London in 1870, everyone in that picture (young and old) is fucking DEAD. They didn’t have corona virus back in them days so what killed them ALL? Cruiseships probably?

I think the problem is that the President is allowing our country to panic by constantly being on TV talking about it and undercutting all the professionals so people don't trust what is being done to stop this, and nobody has a real idea of what it is going to be yet because of all of the noise on it being spread around is drowning out the actual science.

Trump like it or not is the President and everything he says is newsworthy, and the online masses of trolls (foreign and domestic) that he employs to spread his nonsense just push out that much further.

But serisously just saying it isn't anything is unknowable at this point, which is the problem, we are months behind where other countries are with out testing, so unfortunately the cases are just going to keep trickling up before we get an actual understanding of this.

Well it's gonna be a real big deal for Donald and the republicans in the house and senate this election, the American public wants answers to some serious questions about the administration's response, or lack of to the pandemic.

I'm wondering if the Trump administration will tell witnesses not to appear and documents not to be produced in the coming congressional oversight on the Pandemic response, or lack of it. How do you think that would go over with the public while they and their families are fighting for their fucking lives, frightened and pissed? Donald is stupid enough for anything and he fucked up bigly here starting 2 years ago, he will want to hide the incompetence, negligence and dereliction of duty. Ya think Donald is gonna lie? (trick question) and refuse to cooperate with the oversight investigations? The republican house and senate members are gonna lose their fucking minds over this during election season, Donald is gonna fuck'em and its becoming clearer to them with each passing day and scandal.

Think about the coming oversight hearings on the Pandemic, Nancy is in charge of the timing too and it will be for maximum effect. This is not some esoteric foreign scandal that most people don't give a fuck about, this is where the rubber meets the fucking road baby. People's lives are directly on the line here and it's gonna directly affect them bigly. Getting a "mild" case of this might lay you up for a few weeks, quarantined, with all the subsequent economic impacts. People are gonna be watching these hearings and will be aghast when Donald refuses to deliver documents or witnesses, but most government doctors and scientists would appear anyway.

The best predictor of future performance is past behavior... Donald and the republicans are fucked bigly, Donald has lots to hide here too. Mitch McConnell is gonna be fucking thrilled, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I guess they were wrong about Donald, he was fucking this up while they were letting him off the hook, now they are on the hook for Donald.

BTW Mitch and a lot of republican senators are old fossils in a high risk group with a lot of public exposure, a few might die over this themselves.
People are gonna have KBT (Killed By Trump) engraved on their tombstones.

The numbers you posted represent a fucking disaster and very dark future for many folks. If these estimates are accurate the medical systems in many places will become overwhelmed.

This is where it seems to come from. there is nothing on their website, but this doesn't look like an external facing document. Probably something shared internally amongst members.

Somebody is going to follow up with them to either confirm it's a real doc or get a denial.

Fux news, pretty well says it.
Here's something interesting about FOX news viewers, most will have a fatality rate of over 4% (some much higher) and a high hospitalization rate and risk of severe illness, that should bitch slap em back to reality.

The median age of a prime-time viewer was 68 as of 2015. A study done by the Pew Research Center found that around 60% of Fox News viewers identify as conservative.
How Old Is the Average Fox News Viewer in America?

National Nurses United Issues Grave Warning on Coronavirus
BY
Nicole Karlis, Salon
PUBLISHED
March 7, 2020

As novel coronavirus cases continue to grow in the United States, thousands of unionized nurses say that they find the lack of preparedness among their employers and hospitals alarming — and fear that they may be at risk for COVID-19 as a result.

On Thursday, at a press conference in Oakland, Calif., the National Nurses United (NNU) gave the result of a survey sent out to union members asking if they felt their employers were prepared for the ongoing outbreak. Pulling from recent responses from more than 6,500 nurses in 48 states, NNU said only an estimated 29 percent of nurses reported their employer had a plan in place to isolate a patient with a possible COVID-19 infection. Twenty-three percent said they “didn’t know” if there was a plan in place at their hospital.

While 63 percent of the nurses surveyed said they had access to N95 respirators at their units, many said they haven’t been fitted or trained on how to properly use them.

“The results of our national survey of more than 6,500 nurses is truly disturbing,” Jane Thomason, an industrial hygienist for the union, said on Thursday. “They show that large percentages of the nation’s hospitals are unprepared to safely handle COVID-19.”
