Hlg quantum board, spider farmer led or another 315 cmh

I have 4 SF1000's, and I absolutely love them. I added quite a bit around them for the grow I am putting into flower as soon as the last 2 strips for my build I ordered get here.

If you can get the SF4000 for $270.....do it, half the price of HLG's equivalent

HMMMMMM...…damnit now got me thinking

If you do go spiderfarmer. Alibaba has the sf4000 for around $270 w/delivery.
I have four SF2000’s ..... I just ordered the 240w lm301H QB’s from Alibaba , they are not the same boards as spider farmer. My spider farmer lights are a couple inches wider and longer than the Alibaba “equivalents”. Also .... the alibaba lights have no way to mount the damn drivers, you just rest them on top. Pretty whack

Thanks for all the opinions. I think since I already have one cmh I'll get another for next run and see how it goes.

I might go with led in the future but for now I will see what 2 cmh can do. Maybe the hlg lights will be cheaper by then too.

I'm taking the drivers off of my Spider Farmers anyway, why they thought it wise to put a giant block of heat resting on top of the aluminum sheet pulling heat away from the diodes, i'll never know

LED technology is advancing like cell phone technology, what they are selling this year will be old news next year. That said I have 1200+ actual watts of LED lol

Yea that is another reason I'll hold off on led for now. Maybe next year the hlg 550 rspec will be quite a bit cheaper since they will probably have something new out by then.

Combination with 4 boards on the corners seems wonderful

Yea I'm sure it's nice but also kind of pricey. I think I'll just buy another cmh for next run and see how it goes.

I am interested in led though so maybe I'll get a small hlg or spider farmer to put in the middle of the 2 cmh.

Man idk, I love my 315 especially in the winter.. but these qb’s making some rock hard buds too.. I think I’m going to run both... they compliment each other well !!

Is there a noticable difference in bud quality with either of the lights?

It could have been the fact that I was running my 315 at the wrong heights.. I was running it at 18 inches from the tops.. but under further review my Vivosun asked for 24 inches.. while it seem to create the frost.. it seemed my buds were fluffy.. but at 24 they seemed more dense.. but my boards at 18 are making some rocks.. and frost.. I couldn’t resist a pinch..was like damn!!!

Thanks that's good to know.

Do led lights have any RF interference problems? I don't have to worry about that with a magnetic or cmh ballast.

I was thinking maybe I'll use the whole 5x5 instead of just using 4x4 like I am now.

If I have 2 315 cmh and 2 spider farmer sf1000 I think that should be enough light.

What do you guys think?

That would be plenty of light. I have my 4 QB's dimmed down to 100watts each so I'm only running a total of 700ish watts
