Wait... Is that a depression to the base where there's just no fins and logo printed? I thought that was the back of the board.
It's just a circle area without fins huh

What red diodes are these??Bought my HLG 240 V2 with MARCUD light boards last week, not a bad deal for $150 delivered (Samsung 301B chips).

Looks like the back of the board when zoomed in.Wait... Is that a depression to the base where there's just no fins and logo printed? I thought that was the back of the board.

Nah, the other hole to the right shows the back of the WHITE board. That's just a part of the heatsink without fins. Base is there, just no fins. Just for a logo. . . So lame.Looks like the back of the board when zoomed in.
Speed holes. What's with the enormous holes drilled out in the heatsink ALL THE WAY through?
Marcud LEd print is on the back of the BOARD or the HEATSINK?Marcud LED is the back of the board, the centre and corner holes are all the way through.
Corner holes for the mounting bolts (that I haven't bothered to use), maybe the centre is an alternative mounting hole.
This is the only info on the board ......... apart from the printing on the parts.

You're telling me, before the heatsinks is put on the board, there's just a huge 2.5-3" completely through hole in the middle of it?Board.
I'm really pleased with this light, and the plants really seem to like it.
It's not hot, neither the heatsink nor the board under it.I think Meijiu and a couple other companies do it as well with their heat sinks. It’s most likely one factory milling all the heat sinks for multiple companies. Definitely creates a bit of a hotspot on the board when run hard, but hey! Gotta engineer in some planned obsolescence some how.
Oh it’ll still do it’s thing and grow some good looking dope for ya. Just funny the things China does because they think North Americans think it looks “cool”. I’m using China boards and I have zero complaints so farIt's not hot, neither the heatsink nor the board under it.
Maybe 3c above the room temperature, air temp 27.9c, h/s temp 29.7c, board temp 31.5c

This board is being marketed to Thai buyers.Just funny the things China does because they think North Americans think it looks “cool”.
Thai, Europe, North American, we’re all brainwashed to respond to marketing. Subliminal things like cool looking logos, different colours and being different than the other guy, even at the cost of logic. You’ll like the boards if they’re what they say they are. This board is being marketed to Thai buyers.
It all depends on what YOU want out of your light. The “IR” is just far-red (730nm) and I’d suggest you check out the uva/uvb led thread for some good data on the benifits. So I am shopping on Kingbrite and I am torn between 2 models below. the light is for a 2x4 tent for flower. The rep Vivi said the first one is the "newest model" with UV and IR but I believe that I have read somewhere on this thread that the UV chips are not strong enough and/or burn out quickly so it was better to not have those. Does this also apply to the IR chips, are these needed or beneficial? Can anyone tell me help me make the choice as to which would be better? I plan to get either in the 3000k color temp unless otherwise advised.
