Tracking and isolating contacts is the key to containing and stopping this thing and it seems the States has lost control of this. Downplaying this by Trump downplays the seriousness of this pandemic and downplays the need to be self vigilant. He’s gotta go seriously! He’s destroying every shred of what the States stood for. I was once proud to say my dad was American now not so much ..... fuck.

Him and his wife were on the Diamond Princess. 78 and had pre existing problems so a prime target. His wife has Corona as well.

It's already loose, had the first death in Washington state yesterday and today researchers say it's been spreading in the state for up to 6 weeks. Our government has done squat, California was only sent 200 test kits for 40 million people in the state.

The first case of community spread CV in Cali should have been caught a week earlier but they were denied a test kit because there were so few and the person had not traveled or interacted with someone that had. How many people caught CV from that person and passed it on to others because they weren't tested?

two hundred test kits are enough to establish that. If I had been involved with that decision, I wouldn't have put much resources on making test kits. Ensuring needed supplies for hospitals is more urgent.

That said, effing Pence is in charge. He was last seen at a fund raiser for the Trump campaign, so it's not as if we can say for certain that there WAS a coherent decision to allocate resources appropriately. More than likely, the test kit maker was not in favor with the Trump administration and so didn't get the funding needed to flood the system with testing capability.

Oh look I just killed my own argument.

Never mind.

I'm In Aus. Its been pretty well contained so far considering our close ties with China. Im saying we should lift our travel bans (we got in real early on that) and let this thing do its thing. Have Corona parties and let our kids get it.
