This is a poll to find out who believes in creation, doesn't matter if it's by a god or aliens, if you believe we were created then please vote yes.

There's an option for you agnostics too.

We had to be created by something in someway, no one will know for sure what that way or purpose is, but if we were created by chance. That by certain acids and minerals and blah blah blah coming together the first genes of the human being were created and then man kind evolved into what it has today, until the point where we become extinct.

Creation vs. evolution, one is a "theory" and the other is a fairy tale!
Is it even possible to "know" anything with any degree of certainty regarding Man's origin?
A large dollop of faith is necessary!

i voted NO, with the strick interpretation that 'creation' involves an intentional, intelligent creator 'person'.

This is what I meant... i believed specifying a god or aliens would be enough. Of course there must've been a catalyst, or cause for our being here but this is not intelligent design.

Thankyou closet', I should've been a little clearer.

Why do some bible thumpers think it would be less elegant for a omnipotent being to set everything in motion billions of years ago as a single explosion rushing rapidly outward creating everything we see and know today, knowing of course we would eventually come into existence?

Seems far more impressive than flashing everything into existence 6000 years ago and tricking us with carbon dating, creating life that can't adapt to new environments (talking about people who don't believe in evolution), planting dinosaur bones, and all the other crap some people believe.

my favorite thing about bible thumpers- "god-fearing" is supposed to be a good thing. what kind of life are u living when u teach ur children to be afraid of the most powerful force in the universe?

demoralization. slavery. sheep. blind. paranoid. afraid. weak. revolting.

wait, planted dinosaur bones? who did?
Most of the people who do believe the bones were planted (and there are some who do) believe the devil planted them to test our faith. Others believe 6000 years ago when we were created Adam and Eve and their decedents lived with the large dinosaurs, and recently opened a $27 million "museum" to prove it. Creation Museum - Creation Museum

Now with all the cave paintings we've found of people painting the creatures they've encountered (Wolly Mammoth, deer, antelope) you'd think one of them would've painted a huge fucking T-rex or brontosaurus running around if they ever saw it.

Jesus probably would've seen better uses for all that money too.

i'm pretty sure cavemen and t-rex lived millions of years apart. explains the reason for no paintings. my 12 year old son knows that.

We have mountains and continents that took millions of years to get to where we are today. Sorry if my sentences are off, but i just picked up some AK47... mashed. i think it's because I'm cocktailing it with the grapefruit...

The main argument for creation now, it's last stand so to speak, is that the Earth, and us was created around 6, 000 years ago. As this god could not have created the dinosaurs millions of years before man and not made any mention of them before.

to achieve this point the creationists discredit carbon dating, saying it is highly inaccurate, and although it's accuracy is indeed a subject for question, the level to which the creationists question it verges on the ridiculous. Not only do we have carbon dating, we have ice cores and rock cores, these are also discredited by the creationists. They say that we can't possibly judge environmental factors to decide rock and ice formations.

First, i'm am SICK of hearing the fundamentalist creationist tired arguments. these people effectively discredit all known sciences and thousands of books in each of those science fields because it disagrees with a single book, the bible. a book written over two thousand years ago. this is logical?

Then, i get MAD, because of how they reap the benefits of science; with their building technology, their computer graphics and design, their interactive museum. All at the same time denying and discrediting the genius and accuracy of science.

their two faced, hypocritical stance is ludicrous.

There's actually a guy on this site that is intelligent enough to believe in both. Creationism and Evolution, although evolution he puts down to an in-built mechanism for survival. In other words evolution is merely a fancy name for adaption. An adaption we already have built into us by the creator.

It makes sense, although it still seems a little like grasping at straws... a man with faith that wants to embrace science too.

I know that we evolved from a single protein strand, most likely started in the very deepest of the sea. Learning quick, adapting (ha ha) quicker than anything else around us... learning faster than any lifeform had before. We were probably around when the dinosaurs were here only we would have been some sea-type creature, moving up the levels of the sea. our timing was crucial, I doubt we'd have survived very long with real dinosaurs.

I'm agnostic so unsure

a superior intelligence could have created a big automata which is our universe, we could have always existed, i dunno

What creates germs?

If we were created then so are germs, new ones in fact, all the time are being created if this is the case.

This creator certainly is a busy guy.
