Led lights?

IDC what people grow with, but there's no reason to bash LEDs. They are only going to get better and people would be better served if the conversation turned away from "leds suck- you suck". LEDs offer possiblities that HID just can't. I'd think any real grower worth his salt would be looking into it. Those like GrowTech who say it can't be done, even when you show it to them...wtf? I bet he grows bud out of sheer dumb luck... Yes, HIDs grow weed, and good for GrowTech that they do because he clearly needs all the help he can get...It costs 3400 euros or 6800 dollars to build an equivalent set of 1 red and 1 blue led board lamps and thats just for the leds,and by equivalent i mean that is the same results of 2 x 1000 watt hps lamps.
All in all a cost of around 9000 dollars,but as you said it should last constantly for about 10 years.
Over 10 years it is cheaper and more efficient but i would say the majority of people that toke cant even afford a 400 watt hps so its not even a question for them,they can simply never afford it.
You should just wait until the price of those high powered leds drops drastically

Dont misunderstand me,i actually agree with you on every point apart from the one that says its not at all possible to supercrop with leds.
It is,but not the rubbish that you can buy from your local hydro shop.
Serious investment and only really a boon for dealers and people that grow on a large scale and the only reason that they would invest in them is for stealth purposes.
High powered leds are the only ones that work and you need about a 100 of each,blue and red,to make it work.
Add the cost of the boards soldering resistors,power packs etc,... you get the idea,only for the serious businessman

I think youll find that gorwtech is just trying to stop newbies from running out and spending 500 dollars on a ufo and finding they end up with a stalk of skinny.
You need to be able to invest in many disks or a lot of leds.
I also agree with you on the point that leds will one day be useful to us when they are cheaper and more highly powered.
I personally am waiting for them to be about 5 pounds each and 10 watts then i may consider it

I'm sorry... but I've not yet seen a "decent" LED grow... It's also not my position to tell people to grow with LEDs... if I were a true dick, I would-- less HPS growers = less buds, and that = more money for me. The fact is simple, LEDs stink... They just plain stink. They are good for nothing more than keychain flash lights, power buttons, and whatnot.
You should check out the .4 watt 10mm LEDs, the red puts out 160 lumen @ 40 degrees... .4 watts LEDs are about $.70/watt in bulk...

Its ok i just noticed that you said the .4 watt,not actually 4 watts,0.4 watts.
The osram power leds that i told you of and linked to are 5 true watts not 0.5 watts.
They are blinding,for real and get hot and i mean blinding.
They also do not provide a 140 degree angle.
