Please recommend a flowering light for my 3x3 tent

I've been reading about a lot of people buying that Timber light, I'm sure it's a solid deal. 100w per cob is some intense light. I built a DIY light for my 3x3 tent with 4 cobs that could go up to 100w each, and they were just way too intense for the plants, I had to keep them 3' over the canopy and the tent was only 6' tall. I ended out dimming them to about 75w each and I still had to run them 24" over the canopy in order not to burn the plants. In the end I added more cobs, and I run them at about 50w each, keeping it at about 40w/sf, and they run about 16-18" over the canopy. I'm happy with the results, but I'm just a hobby grower. For me, I could only use that light if I had 8+ vertical feet to work with and/or I don't veg for very long or if I trained the plants (scrog etc.). But that might be more about my limits as a grower or grow style, YMMV.
Hi. Would you recommend cobs over strips ?

Hi. Amigo could you explain a little more what you mean by that please. Im new at this. Thank you .
He’s recommending different types of lights depending on the style of grow. Strip lighting for scrog, cobs if you’re just growing large plants. I’m a cob fan.

Cobs are light spot lights, they go deep into canopy.
Strip lights are "surface" lights they can light a whole area with out much depth.
I exaggerated a bit, just for the sake of scale.
Hope this helps.
I personally like to grow small plants

What would you choose between cobs, pucks and strips and why

I choose strips. Best spread of all.
Because spread can be so uniform, you can run lights extremely soft and as close as CFLs. I haven't master it though, so I run my lights at half power and 15-24 inches from tops. I have to defoliate alot. Honestly though, I've always wanted cobs so I could grow monsters. Just strips are way more bang for buck imo

Cob builds are pretty cheap and simple too. I agree with what you are saying though.
I run mine pretty hard and at a higher watt per sq/ft than most here running strips. Distance from the canopy is farther as well
