In the future it’s easier in the staff if you just report and stop throwing gas into the fire and Continue arguing for 8 pages

seriously just report ignore and let us handle it
Report what tho? staff shouldnt have even been bothered by anything in this thread. Theres been some back and forth but for the most part its remained cordial lol

Sorry someone actually wasted your time hitting that report button.

And we call ourselves grownups. haha

You know wha I'm saying Diggs :weed:
Childish behaviour quite embarrassing really

Ya were entering into a very scary time for the forums, especially the led section....It seems there cant be a thread started asking about lights without it blowing up into a mine is better than yours all out bitch fest.

Soon noone will want to start threads or partake in discussions unfortunately....Especially if it involves lighting lol

More like HLG buys their stuff from China, adds a logo and model name and sells it to gullible westerners for 5 times the price. These big companies are just economic parasites, they are selling you stuff sourced from these very production lines and claiming they are superior. I remember awhile back someone who lived in a place where importing costs a tonne asked for advice from Meiju they told him to buy directly from someone they supplied to and it was HLG :D
You sure about that? Buddy why open your mouth without evidence to back up such claims? We produce our boards in house right here in the good old USA......

I have never bought one thing from Meiju..... Again you seem so sure of your "facts" .... You don't know anything whatsoever about my company or our purchasing practices. So please keep you uneducated assumptions to yourself before someone actually believes your nonsense.

Hey mate, just found the write up from GLI and yeah they are still importing from Asia as of 2020. HLG wrote to the guy after his write up and addressed the quality control and customer service issues. Johnson are one of the companies that formed HLG! However the does confirm they are assembled in the US, not manufactured there:

"HLG 550 is only lamp that had higher failure rates. This is because of Meanwell driver. We have worked with Meanwell to fix this issue. MW now makes all drivers for us in Taiwan instead of China and is better quality. and we now also use inventronics driver that has much less failure rate than MW."
We produce boards in house or Samsung makes them for us in South Korea.

See this post. We spent over 700k on an SMT line featuring a Panasonic NPMW2. I personally run it at times.

Yeah I agree with your quality control point, but I think that as long as you are reasonably careful and do your due dilligence, it is much better to go for Ali boards or anything electrical over a western company, if possible. I have seen talk of some people grouping together to order large enough quantities to get branded diodes and offer an alternative to HLG.

HLG would be a great company if they charged a couple hundred more than Ali lights. But they are charging way over that to the point it is just greed. More people would be buying them and they would have constant and repeat business. If I had the cash I would love to visit the factory, order pallets of boards and heatsinks and drivers and get them branded. Sell them for 65% of what HLG does and brand my light the GHL 435 :D
Most people do not realize the Chinese government subsidizes tech companies 20%. So they sell sometimes 10% below cost of production. Furthermore I buy direct from Samsung and know full well you can not be getting something legit aas it costs use more than what you claimed to pay in parts alone. We also buy direct from MW and Inventronics....... Something doesn't add up. Mind you we also have margins built in for mom and pop shops as well. Maybe you don't care if your local hydro store goes under but I do. Trust me when I tell you buying everything from Amazon is not good for US workers as a whole. Seems you like casting lots of shade.....

Also once you actually start paying employees a living wage in the US, provide insurance, pay taxes on your inventory to the state advertise, and actually do your own R&D ( you know not just sell a copy product) you will begin to understand that these "obscene " markups are neccessary to actually make a profit..... Right now after it's all said and done we make 10%..... You might think I'm full of it (honestly don't care) but that's the facts......

They don't manufacture, if they are buying chinese made diodes, they are manufactured in China. When my Grandad stopped building his products here, he no longer legally could advertise them as being manufactured here. Which is why HLG never say it.
P.S. our Samsung leds come from Vietnam and Osram is made in Malaysia.....We say made in the USA all the time.....
