I’ve kept them at the same height as the hood. I lowered the one in the rear so you could see it in the photo. I’ve had them as close as 16 and now I’m closer to 22-24 inches. At 45 minutes, I’m seeing no leaf stress. I’ll work my way up to 3-4 hours per day depending on how the leaves react. But their instructions were for three feet if I remember correctly.
Ya they say 3 feet, I’m not sure if that’s for them specifically or just because the SS series has a minimum hang height of 36”. What day of 12/12 did you start easing yours in?

I’ve been running every other day or so since 12/12 and even ran it before the flip a few times. I have nothing to compare to, but the strain seems to be getting frosty earlier than normal. Can’t wait to see the buds once they’re getting 3-4 hours per day. I plan to do that for the last three weeks.

Oh wow, ok sounds good! Maybe I’ll have to look into flicking mine on sooner then :)

Thanks!

Yes....actually 3 smaller Timbers (3VL) instead of one big a Timber (The Fatty). I love my HID, but the heat is too much for my house. Still in production......
I worked in electronics a while back and know enough to Diy some, but I've also worked on them enough to know I just flat out don't want to.

If and when I go to Led, Timber is probably the top of my list atm.
So tired of hearing about HLG.(not knocking them) I just tend to take the path less traveled normally.

I'm really interested to see what you can do with them and I hope you log the changes in grow style you have to make between HID to LED. That way we have some good, reliable data and not just "bro science" :bigjoint:

GORILLA GLUE 4 grow

Week 13 since germination, Week 6 since flower, NFTG nutes, now under 750 watts and 65,000 lux,

I’m not happy with the lower leaves...not getting enough nitrogen with the NFTG feed. I added a little DynaGro grow (.5ml/gallon) for nitrogen and a little MagPro (.5 ml/gallon) because I suspect low P due to new red stems. I find NFTG difficult to adjust to the plants compared to a 3 part nutrient system, I’m going to run GH Flora series next time.

The lower leaves aren’t looking too healthy here.

Plenty of room in the tent. Going to run 6 plants next time.

Colas are looking good.

Still preparing for my next grow. I found an awesome attachment collar to connect the exhaust fan to the phat filter. The new tent is coming together.

How much Athena's are you using per gallon?
I’m using 2 tablespoons per gallon, but it’s only 0.5 nitrogen so I didn’t think that would help. I just ordered more of the Athenas Aminas and Herculean Harvest. I’m following the mid flowering schedule.

Medusa’s magic might be the right product to add.....it has more Nitrogen.

What do you think @Flatrate ? There’s a NFTG thread that I’m going to check out too.

Just looked in my notes and thats about where I was at in mid flower also. Thats was the first thing I thought of. Are you using Bloom Khaos? If so are you running it 1 part BK to 6 parts Herc?

I stopped using the Bloom Khaos as a foliar 3 weeks ago. So I’m not using Bloom Khaos at all. You think that would make a difference in my leaves like that? It’s just potash....no N or P. I’m getting plenty of K with my Terpinator supplement.

BK can do some damage if not used correctly, but it sounds like your safe from that. Sorry man just asking to try to rule some things out.
I appreciate the help Flatrate! I still struggle with figuring out normal nutrients, so an organic system like this is a little more confusing to me. A few chemical nutes shouldn’t kill me too badly I hope. Hopefully I keep them alive for 5 more weeks.....I need this first harvest sooner than later.

I think your leaves look great .. my plants leaves start turning yellow faster under leds I noticed ever since switching. My theory is that it is natural for plants leaves to die off as a part of the aging process and some times with the lower leaves that don’t get much life they end up dying half way though flower. I tend to over react when I see anything on my leaves but I’ve had plant leaves stay healthy for 12 weeks like when you gonna die ... so I don’t think it’s too bad ... I also just started using nftg so I’ll be watching closely ... nice grow

NFTG is confusing, I would recommend if using watch as many Q&A videos as you can and then watch them again. I am still somewhat new to the line, but know enough to get in trouble. Have you did a slurrie test?

Thanks Flatrate! Good idea. Let me see how to do one. Ive done a few videos, but let me check out a few more. It’s a little over my head. I’m running in Fox Farms Ocean Forest and perlite which has always been ph balanced. I think the plants are looking really healthy overall except for a few yellow fan leaves. I plan to finish this grow with NFTG, then decide whether to use it again next time. My plants have responded well to it.

Thank you....it’s been a while since I’ve grown, and I don’t recall dropping leaves this early. However, I am starting week 6 on a 7-9 week strain, so it makes sense that they’d be yellowing around this point.

Thanks for the idea Flatrate. I did a slurry test where I mixed neutral water ( ph 6.7) with soil and determined that the slurry has a ph of 6.8. That tells me the soil is probably a little higher than I want in PH. NFTG recommends a ph of 6.3-6.8 for the medium. So my next feeding will be a 6.3 ph feeding to help lower the media ph, and I will run a little extra liquid thru to flush out the medium.
