260 Watt Quantum Board LED Kit V2 Thoughts?

Yeah, I would probably add just a few U-channels on the backside to tripple the surface area and give them a bit more rigidity. Boards themselves run surprisingly cool and at half power anyway.
At 130ish watts probably +600 avarage with around 1000 in the center and if the cooling performance is the same like with other boarde one could even get away without heatsinks.
I already though about the ZeusXT boards but they cost 99€ each. Pretty sure two of this boards in parallel at the same watts would have at least comparable efficiency but on the other hand you profit from better distribution less distance and so on. Is this the cost for just the board or incl. heatsink?
Bava has recently send me a pdf with their latest "QB" collection and price list. But they only offer LM301b boards with additional deepreds. I've already enough UVA with the bulbs and do not need more. But for those working without such bulbs the additional UVA should have positive effects.

Hehe, "point of ridiculousness" is good, lol! I run my old CXA2540 at 175mA; thats just 6w or so. And ~150mA(5w) is my favorit drive current for cheap 50w full spectrum COBs and passive cooling. I use the 1590°k spectrum to mix it with 5000°k/CRI90 Nichia COBs for the plant corner in my living room.
That cost, €49, was for 1 Disco board.
Zeus xt is €99 wouldn't have any problems running without heatsink due to its diode spread plus it's guaranteed legit with warranty and size but there's better spread of light with 2 Disco boards so its swings and roundabouts.... again lol
Bava boards look nice.
Seems 660nm in white pcbs is becoming very popular.....without proven results yet

Yeah, almost each of the chinese knock off producers have something like that now. They came up with the wavy boards I believe..

Currently I'm using two 2ft Agromax PureUV, bro(75/25% UVB/A, 2x 24w). Its a hella strong bulb and its needed to harden the plants off against such strong bulbs. Its the 1st time I use them and I still have to figure out how to use them without hurting the plants.

Former I've used reptile bulbs(Arcadia Reptile Desert 12%) with pretty good success. Less stressful, less distance needed and much easier to work with for UVB beginners. We have a few UVB related threads here and i suggest you to read them for more info on how to use them.

With an Arcadia bulb(12% UVB) and ~1ft distance you'll get around 150μW/cm² below the bulb or a dose of 5,4kJ/m² every hour. So 2-4h per day are already enough according to the test below. But reptile bulbs can run all day long without damaging the plant; Agromax and Flowerpower UVB bulbs are too strong to use them the whole day and they need probably more distance.
Thanks I will do that. Been looking at the solacures but also considered reptile bulbs as a perhaps better option to start with. Any thoughts on the Eye Hortilux cmh?

Some of the 260 kits can hit actually hit 280+ watts, and at that power level, you'd be right at the lower threshold of what's recommended for your square footage. If you do go with the 260, I'd suggest the XW kit, for better spread in a square tent.
what is the actual draw of a hlg 260 rspec? i have two and now think i got scamme i thought they drew 285 but have heard only 201 at the wall

You can adjust the wattage. 165-300, or something. I haven't put mine in yet, but am getting the room ready to install em. I have 2 260's and a 135 in Rspec sitting here now that will go around my 2 cmh's. I plan to run the 260's at 200 watts a piece and the 135 at 100.

yes i have two 260s one rspec one 3000k i only run one at a time and am trying to get an actual wattage to compare when i yield.
manufacrurer says 135-285, but the meanwell driver says max output 249.9.
check the top of your light, it says the same thing. i run mine on almost 100% am i overloading the driver??

I'm going to get a Kill-A-Watt to dial mine in to 200 watts, but I have seen lots of people running them full power. I just heard they run a little cooler on a lower setting, but will be experimenting both ways soon. And no your not overloading the driver.

if i am running a 260 watt hlg quantum board at 18” above the canopy, can i keep a uvb flourescent atthe same distance? or where are youguys phttingthe extra lights?

You kind of have to put them at the same distance or the heatsink will shade them out. You shouldn't run a UVB bulb all the time because the plants will just develop a resistance to UV anyway, so if it's too close you can just run it less often.

i have a rspec 260 and have a supplemental led bar that has a small amount of uva and ir. is that enough?

and further note i have autos in a different tent that are under a 3000k hlg 260 and last run i didnt blast the plant with full light. this time i will because last run the plant did not get half as frosty as the bud that came out of the tent with the rspec+uva+ir
