I read the thread. That person you quote said the term monkey has nothing to do with race. Like: to monkey around, a grease monkey (mechanic), monkey wrench, and monkey it up(an old fashioned term, mostly used by old people in the midwest, and has nothing to do with black people). Mentioning monkey and then automatically assuming they're talking about a euphemism for black person is in and of itself racist.
So it's ok to call someone racial slurs if you're too stupid to understand the use of monkey as a verb has nothing to do with black people? Even if that person was actually racist, it's ok to use those slurs so other people can hear them? Imagine if a white person called a black person the n-word, but then said, "oh, it's ok. He's a racist, so I'm just paying him back!" Yeah sure.

It's called playing devil's advocate. Sure you can use "code" and it was most likely done that way on purpose. But that's just claiming words and being a Nazi yourself. They do it to rile you up, and it works. If we're not careful we'll end up like Germany, where even satire is considered literal, and you'll go to jail for being the very person they wanted to protect you from in the first place.

I just would like to point out that the word 'media' is bullshit and is used as propaganda because it is so wide sweeping.
News might be a form of media, but not all media is news. That is why Fox has to go to court to argue it is ok for them to lie to the American public, because they are entertainment media and not news media.

Even though I don't agree with UB, he shouldn't go to jail. He's a real major pain, but ending up with censorship laws like in Germany, is in some ways worse than becoming a Banana Republic. I like how we are now. It will really suck having to worry if any negative slight can get interpreted wrongly. I'd rather err on the side a racist or homophobic bigot get away with them thinking they're sneaky, than have the Nazi Language police put you in jail over words.
Even before these new laws many countries like Poland too have laws about denying the holocaust. But what's the point of putting stupid people in jail? Let them talk, maybe they'll get bored. By putting them in jail, all you've done is radicalize them more. So when you finally let them out again, maybe next time they're kill someone rather than just call them a vile name.
