i would say if you want to go hps go with a dimmable 600w then if you want to use it in a bigger space you can crank it up but for your small area you could dial it down. Heat will be more of an issue then with LED but if you have the proper ventilation/intake/exhaust/circulation you could use a dimmable 600w for sure. That 1000 watter would be good for a 4x4 or 5x5 tent
