Why are so many new growers choosing blurple/led over hps/mh??

Sorry maybe I got aggressive my overall point is you added cost and power draw without addressing it. Running a fan just to cool the light adds power to that light. Lest say led is 30% more effecient now. then for hps you add 10% in power to air cool another 5% for losses through the glass of the hood now the led is 45% more effecient and you spent an extra 50% on that hps setup because of the cost of the fan and aircooled hood now your at a cost point that makes the led look alot better.
Most of us who are in smaller tents/rooms run the hood from the filter, so ur using the one fan that u have running anyway.

I dont think anyone is saying LED is less efficient for the light it producers.

Oh look another noob mouthpiece who thinks he knows all about plants and lights but hasn’t even grown before. No wonder why you and kingnogrow1 seem to be connecting.
Can you show me where i said i knew anything about lights and growing? Considering i say in this very thread ive never grown and I am learning? Do you have any reading comprehension?lol.jpg

seems like because weed has been illegal for so long, there isn't yet consensus on anything in the growing world. Pretty confusing for newbs.
I'm a newbie myself and there is tons of information about growing cannabis out there I read everything I can and I pick and choose who I talk to on here and that has been growing for years research goes a long ways goggle can be your friend hell ILGM has a grow bible out for free to download and read

Cali Lightworks in a commercial setting will recoup their cost over hps just in electricity to the lighting units before their 5 year warranties expire. Not to mention the thc, cbd, terpene profiles are much stronger under led and much easier for an indoor grower who doesn’t want supplemental co2/ac. Cheers
They charge like 8 bills for 400 Watts lol, would never get coin from me, shouldn't from anyone and you gotta be kidding with the thc/cbd/terp crap... That is all genetics and then environment(not light spectrum). Led/hps/cmh all grow the same with different efficiencies. There is not a single shred of proof that what you just claimed is true. I am not being a dick just stating facts. I'm 100% willing to talk more about it if you have info regarding your claim.

No its just one of those "many different ways to skin a cat" situations and many of those same topics are very polarizing and create chaos usually lol....Some say flush, some dont, some say defoliate, some say dont.... not because one way is right and one way is wrong, its because both ways work and growers have had success regardless which they chose. So they support their way and shit on the way that isnt theirs lol

The joys of being new, half the battle is understanding wtf your reading or watching, the other half is wondering if it was even right in the first place.

Best advice to a new guy i can give, head over to the journal section, read a bunch of journals, find growers who are growing similarly to your style/space whatever, then start picking their brain. Dont get caught up in everyones advice, you will feel lost. Too many cooks in the kitchen blah blah blah

Find a few good ones who you can rely on and see are growing legit ganja

Everything is gonna be alright :)

He's referring to just watering not feeding, to flush the salts out, I go feed, feed, water... I do not flush the medium right out with multiple runoffs at the end of flower i just stop feeding for the last week
I feed water feed water ect and the last 2 weeks I water only but use same amount of water I been useing is what I been told to do when I see the turn flush from what I have seen on forms and website is if you got 5 gallon pot use 15 gallons of phed water that is called flushing

Yes that is the common term but I'm pretty sure he's referring to the flush in between feedings

But it wouldn't be because of lights now would it??? It would be because of to much salt in the nutrients like I was told after I done got fox farm nutrients the high in salts that I need to water in between feedings but after I move from where I'm at and start back up growing again I'll be getting better nutrients

This is 100% the truth, many different paths lead to the same end point. Start by getting good genetics then get the environment dialed in. Par is par, the plants will grow and yield as long as you know or have an idea of how much par they receive. Forget about any spectrum crap and focus on intensity because that is all that matters first and foremost.

Fuck I hate the new platform makes it hard to look shit up, I'm not following your problem both the soil and the nutrients can cause salt problems but if you flush em out in between every feed it shouldn't be a problem, make sure you get a good runoff when you flush and drain the pans don't leave the pots sitting in the runoff, I can't see how lights would cause any related problems with lights you're looking at heat stress, stretch, over saturation, with salts your looking at nutrient block and/or nutrient toxicity.

I dont have a problem this one dude said growing under led lights you have to flush more is what he has heard or been told lights shouldn't make you flush salts and to much nutrients will make you flush right I dont see how growing under LEDs will make a person flush more
