Why are so many new growers choosing blurple/led over hps/mh??

The test results are at the end clearly. Sorry there is like 3 cuts of the video

And I was being conservative, their results showed thc/cbd/terps to all be 22% or higher under the leds

Like I mentioned before, I do think LED is most likely the future. Whether by choice, performance, or being forced to due to stricter EPA laws.

But,
As a new grower I just can't find any LED's that will cover a 4x8 equivalent to 2kW hps, and a 4x4 equivalent to a 600w hps and give me the same results for roughly the $800-$900 I have invested in my ballasts/bulbs/reflectors.

I do appreciate everyone's input. Everyone has their good reasons for growing the way they do.

Quality LEDs are expensive. Even more so than CMH. But your light is the 2nd most important thing in a grow.

Agreed.
First light I bought was a 315 CMH. I love it. But, it's collecting dust on a shelf along with another 600w hps. More power won out. Plus, from what I could gather in my research, as far as just straight results, mh>cmh still in veg and hps is still king for flower.

CMH=perfect. If you need an all-in-one and don't mind the marginally smaller footprint.

Just my 2 cents.

sciency clip says otherwise..but as i said on page one or two. Your environment should choose ur light.
U can get CMH in more than a 315watter.

I’m not trying to advocate for ‘blurple’ lights, the majority of them are grossly misadvertised and misleading.

Reason for me to use HLG QB kit is because my grow space is small and I cannot extract the heat from MH/HPS properly or I would be using those instead. Also my 280watts of QB lighting is pretty much on par with a 400hps so a little less power consumption but that amounts to pennies really. Heat extraction is my main issue.
