Cheers.

As they say with this plant you never stop learning. I don't know nearly as much as I should considering how long I've been at it.
I learned a lot in the first 5yrs in the Overgrow.com days but then I coasted for the last 15yrs or so on what I knew. lol. That's not totally true but I stayed away from forums for a very long time after the Overgrow bust, that shit tripped a lot of us out who had grow journals with photos and shit and/or had ordered from Heaven's Stairway. Lots of very paranoid stoners after that. :D

I'm just trying to improve my gear. But it looks like organics, as keen as I am on trying them, are going to have to wait another run or two as the boss laid down the law on me and told me I wasn't just tossing out nearly full bottles of nutes and additives.

Conversation went like this:
me: I'm thinking of moving over to organics
her: oh yeah?
me: yeah details blah blah blah and it'll cost me this
her: say what MFer? didnt we just buy a whole new set of nutes and shit?
me: yeah
her: and you're just gonna toss those out?!
me: well, yeah...
her: and how much have you spent on seed recently?
me: okay, I concede. Fuck you, love you.

So, yeah, it'll have to wait a round or two, the organics.
Or I might run bottled organics on a couple plants and see how it goes.
Haha I am on her side...however, my hydro shop guy told me a couple years ago that I should try Hygen nutes when I told him that I bought dry nutes from Norco and am ditching Canna. Long story short, they got 2 runs then my hydro shop guy got a piece of my mind. So the Hygen thud sat outside for a while and then when my tomatoes started fruiting I thought, those fuckers look like they need a bit of Hygen bloom. Moral of the story Hygen good for tomatoes, fucking shite for weed.

Anyway, what I mean is, just tell her everything will get used one way or the other, nutes take ages to go bad and the tomatoes are gonna be next level

Yeah, I've dumped nute lines before.
Wasted plenty of money.

haha
That's a good angle. ;)
She and her plants sure do love the used coco and run off water that are kicking ass in 20L hempys out on the decking and all over the gardens.

The thing I don't get with the whole water only soil concept is why pigeon hole yourself from the start ? If a plant needs more food than what you have in your mix why not give it to it ?
Also the idea of organic grown being better quality than salt based grown is totally wrong, for my taste at the very high end of the quality scale I'd say it is but as you drop down the scale it levels out.
Exactly
I like my soil to give the plant a great start in veg...But at some stage you know the plant is saying please sir may I have more.
That's when I start addijng liquid or powder ferts to the soil to give her that boost
I've only given my best looking plant 3 feeds of powdered nuets...megacrop x3
And I'll continue to pump the bitch with any goodies it asks for

With that much veg time left will you cage it at least once?

Checked plants and noticed mites. Took them outside to hose them down then hit them with the blower. Was blowing an absolute gale turned my back one goes flying and snaps big branch off main stem. Quickly get into damage control which was a nightmare cos she was still wet and the tape didn’t want to support. Finally get her fixed up then prepare miticide. Dance with the wind for next half hour only to spray four plants. Get that done then go into room to raise two lights while they’re on and on my own. Wow more nightmare but got it done. Proceed to vacuum room walls the lot then spray. Dust de all over the place. Change intake filter. Bring girls back in one light not high enough so struggle and burn my left bicep out raising again. Took cuttings, cleaned up bottoms and tipped again.
What an arvo I’m wrecked:roll:

For sure, a good soil mix is essential

Doesn't have to be super complicated or expensive it just needs to be balanced.
I've got a couple of bottles I like to use

No I didn’t burn it on the light. I burnt the muscle out (well feels felt like it) holding the weight of the light so I could adjust the chain. Probably doesn’t sound like a hard task but in an awkward position on a step ladder and then the chain slipped out and the way I’ve got the power cord for the shade I couldn’t put it down when my arm started failing and trembling and burning!! It was fucking full on!! All I pictured was dropping the light landing on the plants bulb exploding!! God it was mayhem. I’m definitely getting a pulley system happening cos I can’t do that again. Not on my own anyway
