First time growing learning on the fly. Are my plants small?

I wasn't necessarily saying give up, but definitely don't start flowering them at this stage. They need to be bigger and healthier to make 2+ months of flowering worth bothering with. If the seeds aren't special and he has more, I suppose starting fresh wouldn't set things back too much though.
It could definitely be salvaged and brought to harvest, I’m probably a bit too much of a perfectionist, I don’t like to bring a plant to harvest that had a slow start, even if it had nothing to do with the genetics. Hell, I will even kill some of my plants off if I don’t like the way they’re growing in veg and just grow the ones I have left into bigger plants.

There may also be some value for a first time grower though in having a plant with fairly low expectations where you can afford to make mistakes as long as you learn from them, and then worry about getting good genetics once there’s a bit of experience.

Those little bulbs can get much much closer, nearly touching the leaves if you want. Just be careful they aren't actually touching the leaves or they will burn them. Within 2-3 inches though for sure.

My first grow was with CFL so growing with little bulbs has a special place in my heart ;)

if you're going to use those buckets for pots you want to drill holes in bottom for drainage if you didn't. but there's a lot of good use for buckets without holes so better to repot to 1G fabric pots like said above.

Honestly this run is purely for learning and experience yield doesn’t matter to me. Got higher watt lights. I have over 25w per square foot I believe I have 100 per sq ft now not including the LED that is still there. Going to purchase a hygrometer and a ph kit. Would the ph of bottled water not be okay? (Not at all knowledgeable about anything in this field smoke weed helps with stress decided It would be a fun hobby to learn about overtime and eventually will be beneficial for me and save me money). I live in Canada so when winter rolls around garden centres have minimal stock. Could anyone give me suggestions on nutrient, defiantly not gonna flower yet but I’m not quitter so I wanna give these plants there best shot before I call it quits my seedling is also growing wayyyyy after then my original plays so the changes I’ve made from first get go have at least done something.

Also the buckets were cheap and of no concern have a million due to work I was gonna drill holes In the bottom and just cut around it to make it a smaller container. Taking into account the container means nothing to me would it be very beneficial to move the plant? Could it be harmful?

haha on one hand it's better not to replant because it disturbs the plant. it will be a little strange to drill from the bottom into the dirt but if you can do it without hurting the plant ok. same for cuttin the sides. um nutrients could try should be in big box store oh I guess Dr. Earth's organic dry ferts for top dress, or whatever miracle grow organic they got these days. Or tomato fert. Should be something available. Just dont overdue it. If you're more remote than that I'd be surprised then you cant get compost and look up some top dress methods around here. ph of bottled water is fine.

lumens doesn’t mean anything for cannabis plants.
depending on the type of lighting you use, you need 30-50w per sq ft. if You’re trying to keep it small and simple right now, you can get a Mars Hydro sp150 for $115 USD on amazon today. This is sufficient for about 4-5 sq ft. I’ve been running a test run on the sp250 in one of my 2x4 tents, and it’s done great. Growth is comparable to the quantum boards I’m running in my other tents. This picture is 3 weeks old under the mars sp250.

I would also get a smaller pot to start out in, my local grow stores sell 1 gal fabric pots for like $2/each. You definitely need a hygrometer, to monitor the temp and humidity in the area your plants are in. I would also get a ph monitor, and do some research on plant nutrition. Promix does not have the nutrients needed to feed your plants, you will need to decide which nutrients you want to use. If you have any Grow stores in your area, I would recommend going to one and getting an idea of everything you’ll need.
Nice plants man, you should get rid of the run off water i see under your risers, or what is that?

I get rid of it after every time I feed. Although, my risers sit above the lip of the saucers, even if I let it sit until the saucer filled, it wouldn’t have any ill effect on the plants.

Having been in your exact shoes 3 weeks ago, don't give up. Use this as a learning experience. I've been posting in my grow journal and if you check it out, you'll see the amount of progress i have been able to make in such a short amount of time with just advice and knowledge. I'm finally in a decent set up with feminised seeds on the way and just discovered one of my bagseed plants is a female! I'm stupid excited and you can be too. Stick with it and listen to their advice. Totally worth it. I don't care if I only get an eighth out of this plant. The experience is helping tremendously.

I use distilled water and it is working fine. I also purchased Fox Farm Trio. Affordable and easy to use. Then I got a decent tent and a Viparspectra 300w reflector series LED for my 2 plants. Mind you I still don't really know shit but it has been easy enough to set up and my plants are finally thriving. I'm also ordering Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil and some rapid rooters for the seeds I ordered.

That standing water is an invitation for bacteria and pathogens even if it isnt sitting in it, dump it out after your pots stop dripping.

It’s full of beneficial bacteria, there’s no room for any pathogens or new bacteria to move in. And again, I remove the runoff after every time I feed.

1 cfl (couldn’t find them anywhere) and then 2 daytime regular lightbulbs but they replicate daylight and have the max wattage I could find and plants have visibly sped up.

i totally agree my plants have started to rebound and I planted a seedling after my first 3 plants and it’s doing great I think it’s time I start a plant journal
