You dont need a dome once roots form and you should go watch some videos about cloning and using the dome. You start cracking the some right away like day three..thats for cuts from a mother ..if your doing it from seed you dont need a dome at allNo, usually I just use straight up HP Promix and had past success. I can add some rice hulls which I should for a bit more aeration.
Now, if you let the roots grow out of the peat pellet, wouldn't they die as they are exposed to light and air? I have had clones with many roots poking out and hanging off of the peat pellet and they seemed to be OK.
sounds like the q board is too much and you really only need a 23 watt cfl at this stage.
although the ewc should have microbes in it you need microbes to break down that kelp meal and that takes a long time so basically the kelp meal didnt help you at all...I suggest ditching the ewc and the kelp meal ..I suggest getting a microbe product though.
Why dont you just put them in the hp like you say your going to use and feed the rooted plant 150 ppms of a veg nute (or clonex) with a touch of microbes in it with no dome...(once rooted) they should grow without any problems ...if you have everything else on point.
I assume you had poked holes in the solo cup I didnt see that stated.
From your post my take on it is....you got roots kept them in a dome too long, (didnt do that right,) probably over watered them, put them under a big light and didnt feed it anything.
