Two weeks and more than 50 posts and still the OP is confused? It's only been five days since he hung his first plant yet he's asking if he should jar it because it smoked good?
@Kingrow1 is saying you NEVER jar it. He's saying you hang it to dry for 14 days, do nothing else, and then you are done. There is nothing more to do but share the good times. He's saying you don't need to measure anything or do anything other than wait. If
@Kingrow1 is using a jar it is for storage, not for drying.
This is the art of drying that
@Kingrow1 is describing. You will know you've done a good job because you'll just know.
For me, being an idiot and all -- I look for a system or method, that is repeatable, to do the same thing the same way every time. Dry until this percent; cure until this number. Start here and finish there.
@Kingrow1 is saying that every dry is different. One dry may need 13 days and one dry may need 15 days. Dry until it smokes and burns well. Since I'm putting words in
@Kingrow1 's mouth, let me do a few more,
@Kingrow1 is saying the dry and the cure are all one in the same.
I think you should experiment with a bit of bud from every harvest. Don't take
@Kingrow1 word for it either, try it for yourself and see what happens, what works, what doesn't. Take a big bud and drop it in a jar with your hygrometer. Why not? You bought one, use it and see what happens. If the bud's moisture content is higher than 10-15% the hygrometer will start climbing quickly and within 5-10 minutes you'll know the bud is still too moist to smoke and burn well. If the number doesn't climb rapidly you could burn a bowl checking for a good smoke.
The bottom line, after only five days of drying, it is hard to believe your bud smells smokes and burns well. Still, I'm just an idiot.
