Ontario outdoor. Monster plant small buds???

So i am not sure if I am just being impatient but I have a few friends that are currently growing plants with nice full buds and have not added any soil ammendments/nutrients.

On the other hand I have been treating my Trainwreck from native seed co. (Purchased from a convenience store) like my baby. It is looking nice and healthy and has grown very big but my bud growth is a little disappointing so far.

I am looking for some tips or even just reassurance from other growers that they will fill out in the next 4 weeks or so.

A little background on my plant;

- during veg I used homemade nettle tea, homemade compost tea and a 5-1-1 fish emulsion until what I deemed to be 2nd week flower.
-during flowering I have been feeding general organics bio bud, bio thrive bloom and calmag.
-she recieves about 8 hours of direct and indirect sun through the leaves of a tree for the rest of the day.

Has anybody heard of native seed co? I am wondering if it is the genetics or if it is due to sunlight issues or something else.

Since she’s listed as mostly sativa, I find most don’t finish until about the 10-12 week time. Some take more like 16 weeks...yikes!

The breeder pack says 9 weeks, but it may take longer. As long as it’s gettin sun and she’s healthy, the buds should swell eventually.

I have purchased Green Crack and Gorilla Glue #4 from them...both seem fine for feminized seeds...still in flower with GG#4, but the Green Crack had fair sized buds when it finished.

Your plant looks very nice...I agree with the above...give it time...sativas take longer.

I’m in about week 2-3 of flower and I noticed the pistils on just about all my buds are already starting to turn red is this normal this early? If not what could be the cause? I took a few pics

This. I have plants right next to each other that didn’t start at the same time. One looks to be about two weeks behind, same genetics. Even neighbors less than a block away will get different bloom times on their fruit trees than I do. Genetics, amount of sunlight, and microclimate can all come into play. That’s a nice, healthy looking plant you have and she looks to be just starting.

I think of it like a race you know you are not looking good to win, you still have to run it.

I tried a few different strains of sativa and found they started flowering too late. By the time they should be fattening up there is not enough sun/nice days and the buds just don't really fill out before the frost hits.

It doesn't seem too far behind to me, but this is my first time outdoor. Looks about a week behind my plants.

Personally I would have done a lot more trimming of leaves and sucker branches lower down on the plant to focus the energy to the buds. It's probably too late to do that, as people say it stresses the plant to do anything too drastic late into flower. But yea I would have snipped off all the small nodes and branches on the inside of the plant while it was still vegging since you aren't going to get much from those small branches anyways and they reduce airflow and increase mold likelihood. Also I've tried to do that early in flower and usually I just use my fingernails to pinch off unwanted nodes, but the plant had gotten all woody and I would have needed like a pet claw snipper to prune those off so I gave up and left it.

Other than that yea it looks like it has a ways to go. Maybe 5 more weeks ideally, but you may have to settle for 3 depending on weather.

Where are you growing? I'm in Southern Ontario btw
