Getting ready to switch from 18/6 to 12/12

hi I’m getting ready to switch my girls into flowering and just had a question and hopefully it’s not a stupid question lol but right now they are set on 18/6 8:30pm to 2:30pm then rest from 2:30pm to 8:30 pm so the question is when I switch them over to 12/12 do I let them go 18 hours of light then switch them after the 18 hours to 12 or let them sleep for 12 hours then switch to 12 light. Or does it even matter. Hope someone understands what I’m trying to explain here lol

You can just set your new light schedule and let the flip begin.

Interruptions or changes occuring over multiple days major no no. Stresses the plants....possible herm...etc.

That will make them bud. Its probably best to run overnight. Some electric companies charge for peak hour use and your room will run cooler at night.

I think I confused all of us lol I guess what I’m saying is tonight the lights come back on at 8:30pm so should I shut them off at 8:30am and then dark from 8:30am to 8:30pm again and so on? So that way it is set for 12/12

Yes, that is what you need to do. Do you have a timer so you don't have to do it manually?

No issue ... just lengthen off hours DURING off period by simply resetting timer while they sleep.

Yes I do thankfully lol thanks for everyone’s help. Here is a pic of them going to be 5 weeks tomorrow except bottom left he is a week behind. Did a little LST on them but it is my first grow.

Autos or regs .... cuz if autos STAY ON SAME SCHEDULE.
If reg seeds ... STAY ON SCHEDULE ( need more vegging )

I’m still in veg right now but was going to switch over tomorrow

Spin your pots ...... let light hit some of the more shaded parts.
In my opinion... you should veg them out more - get a better structure... looks like you started LST.
This way you can have more tops set up before flip.
