The New Deal took place between 1933 and 1936. George wasn't even born until 1937. By the time he was old enough to speak, the U.S. was at full employment and at war. George never knew a day of the depression or the results of it.He grew up during the new deal and his politics were shaped by the times
Jumbo shrimp? There's no such thing!George had a few good points, was a great comedian and bitter in old age about what his country had become. He grew up during the new deal and his politics were shaped by the times, he was pissed about American politics and any sensible citizen would be.
I figure this fellow means well and is learning his way around this forum and politics, I'm glad he reads our posts and I expect more thoughtful contributions over time. He doesn't strike me as a Trumper, just a faux pas every now and again, George's thoughts on politics are a lot more relevant to the reality of the situation than the Trumpers posts.
The new deal policies were around a lot longer than that, it became shorthand for a plethora of policies including those post war democratic policies that benefited the middle and working classes. I was speaking of the policies of the democratic party and even Eisenhower republicans that came after them. Things started to change globally and economically that caused that America to be destroyed by Reagan and the republicans. The New Deal took place between 1933 and 1936. What's more, his parents were quite well off for the day. His mother was an executive secretary and his dad Patrick was the manager of advertising for The Sun newspaper in New York.
George went to private Catholic schools and never wanted for anything his entire life. He was a spoiled brat.
Once again, you post complete nonsense.
No. They weren't. Well, Social Security was but that's about it. When the country went to war nearly every current project was scrapped. There was no longer a need to create jobs when the nation was at full employment for the war effort. The new deal policies were around a lot longer than that,
Like I said the "Slogan" New Deal was and is used to describe a period in American politics that helped to create a predominate middle class. I used the term to describe the political environment Carlin grew up in, and was not referring to the specific policies that kick started a trend. Also, George's up bringing, schooling and religion are irrelevant to his political views, so what if he was fortunate enough to have a good up bringing and a privileged life. You've probably enjoyed the same.No. They weren't. Well, Social Security was but that's about it. When the country went to war nearly every current project was scrapped. There was no longer a need to create jobs when the nation was at full employment for the war effort.

Oh my. sometime you can be right, but other times you can be so fucking wrong. Nothing too wrong about that, except your arrogance.No. They weren't. Well, Social Security was but that's about it. I try to be nice to allies and will spar, but only take the gloves off for Trumpers. I made no such claims, I knew of Carlin's life story and a bit of history too from my life experience, I don't need to google and and nit pick about irrelevant details and misinterpretations. And once again you continue to defend a completely indefensible position.
You claimed Carlin grew up in the depression during the new deal. He didn't. He wasn't even born until after it.
You claim that because of this Carlin had it hard and tough and went without and all that jazz. He didn't. He was well off his entire life, never wanted for anything and was in fact a spoiled brat.
But do continue trying to make out that Carlin had it tough. It's what you do: post complete bullshit and then spend 25 pages defending it.
Carlin on Trump and Trumpers would have been something to see. Fat shaming is politically incorrect these days and and malls are dying, times change...
Yeah its amazon now, they don't even have to get off their fat asses lolCarlin on Trump and Trumpers would have been something to see. Fat shaming is politically incorrect these days and and malls are dying, times change...
He might also be young and trying to learn. Any evidence he's a Trumper or a racist, I haven't looked through his posts much. You’re an idiot
Definately racist, the human race.He might also be young and trying to learn. Any evidence he's a Trumper or a racist, I haven't looked through his posts much.
What do you think about Donald? Where do you stand and why? Inquiring minds want to knowDefinately racist, the human race.
The democrats have a plan to combat voter suppression, money and corruption in American politics and gerrymandering too, not to mention foreign interference. The party is responding to the concerns of the populace and the "corporate democrats" are at their nadir, the left is strong in the party. America was for sale to the highest bidder and Putin bought it, why not, he's a billionaire, the days of dark money in American politics are numbered, the NRA and Russians proved how bad an idea that was.Carlin has a good point. A good point is a good point regardless of what else a person might say or think. It is a fact that those who get what they want from government work outside the system to accomplish that. Voting has been neutralized as an effective means of managing government. Representation is transferable. As soon as your favorite candidates take office you get outbid with respect to representation. You end up without any. The representation you expect gets bought away from you by those who work outside the system. Only individual citizens can change this but most believe government works one way when it really works another. Your favorite candidate is really not going to be your fairy god mother. Democracy/republic is the best system but it really is a brutal process. If citizens let it get corrupted things turn out badly and that is what has happened.
What do I think about Donald? He told people what they wanted to hear and made empty promises to get what he wanted. What do you think about Donald? Where do you stand and why? Inquiring minds want to know
