Thanks for contributing JPcyan!
Spore technically could go bad if stored improperly.
Canndo, can you elaborate on your technique with the vacuum Please? I'd love some specifics to see if I am capable of attempting.
I've tried activated carbon and wood charcoal in agar and syringes. As well as an ultrasonic bath. Limited success and not able to duplicate. Was randomly successful but may have had some effect
Very little info available on re-hydrating severely dehydrated spores as far as actual technical info. scientificstudies, patents, research etc.
Plenty of attempts and discussion on the OMC, but you have to take that with a grain of salt as you dont really know the specifics.
Agree a syringe is not long term storage but an RTU form.
Thank YOU @BleedsGreen. Your service will never be forgotten. Thanks very much @JPCyan for sharing all the information. Really nice job on explaining some of your proven printing teks......they will come in handy for sure
Great thread and posts all. Thanks Voodu. So I bought a mushroom grow kit from http://www.magicmushroomkit.ca/Mega-You-Grow-Magic-Mushroom-Spawn-Kit-p23.html
Does anyone have any experience with this or any other type of grow kit? After a little research it appears the most crucial part is sterilizing the substrate. I have never grown mushrooms before, but I am pretty good at growing marijuana and vegetables. I know they are totally different, but I'm hoping it all comes down to following direction and patience.
Could you explain what putting it under vacuum did for you? I'm genuinely curious and even though I have pretty good results, I'm still learning. @JPCyan can take most of the credit for my success. He took me under his wing and taught me things that would have taken much more longer to learn on my own lol.I had some that were 12 years old. They would not germinate until I put them on water and introduced a vacuum for half a day.
Then I got a bare few to crank ip.
I dont see syringes that last more than about a year.
Dude make your own sub and grain too. So much cheaper. 4 ingredients bought in bulk lasts me quite a while. Coco, EWC, gypsum, and vermiculite. I even take the easy route and buy pre mix coco with perlite in it and it works fine. It's the same coco I grow plants in so it simplifies things for me.Thanks very much Voodu for your concise and helpful review of this kit as well as your personal insights. It gives me the confidence to have a go at their "Coco" refill kit (double the size of the one you reviewed) and buy containers locally. Shipping, taxes all in $164 CAD.
Also thank you to JP for adding your personal experience with respect to state of mind improvement with moderate usage. After a few low ~1g doses myself I experienced similar benefits. At 53 sheer will is no longer enough to overcome the anxiety/depression, MD prescribed offerings resulted in very dark thoughts but this feels like a solution that is finally in my control.
Gotcha, gotta get a feel for it. I think if you even have mild success you'll see it's actually pretty easy to grow the things. They're fun, I always like waking up to the new impressive growth over night lol.First try. Half lazy, half unfamiliar, half lack of confidence . If my yield nets out 60+ grams dry I'll call it a win and set up proper for the next pass.
Good becuase I have spores on their way and sterilized grain bags and jars. Just learning.Dont listen to naysayers this shit is easy as fuck
Go check out r/UncleBens on Reddit. Using bags of pre-cooked Bens brown rice to grow shrooms in and seems easy as hell. If I decide to grow I'l probably try that first.I remember buying these kits back in the day and having great success. I dont have time for jars and everuthing that goes with it. Wpuld like a kit for myself to have some shrooms. Who's reliable? Not interested in "it's cheaper if...". I know.
