Gorilla Tape is NOT light proof! I put it over my remote sensor leds and the light went right through. So I just popped out the leds with a tiny screwdriver.
Reflective material a must?

My grow room is in my cold cellar, so being light proof isn't my main concern. Mostly what I need is a tape to seal the joints that will stick well. Ideally if it's clear, just because it'll look better.

Look for foil tape. Its light proof and sticks very well, its also strong as long as you don't knife it.

The issue with foil tape is trying to stick an 8' long stop of it without it ripping or crumpling. I'm leaning towards the Clear Gorilla Glue tape. The seams all overlap, so I'm not concerned with light seeping through.

Gorilla will stick as well as anything, pulling it off the roll is the hardest part.
It sure don’t let light through at my house. But as far as sticking it’s awesome.

Flat white treated ply or panda film gets my vote, in my area im forced to use stuff that will last and hold up to the humidity & heat.

Reflective walls will equate to more photons reaching the leaves.
The real question is will the effort result in an ROI?
With HPS very likely.
With directional LEDs as much. It would greatly depend on the distance of the fixture to the canopy.
If the cost and effort is low, then why not slap on a coat of paint?
One could make a case that white paint is more effective than mylar due to the differences in the type of reflections.
I think the best case was made by @ANC when he said his plants lean toward the white pained wall.

I suspect the foil tape glue might not hold for the duration of a grow.
The Gorilla 2x glue clear is a great choice. I really wanted the white, but I was in a hurry and could not find it local. Fine with black tape for top and bottom borders.

edit: I may have missed this, but are you going to put pond liner in there or somethign? I would guess not. but I'm curious what is your approach to treating this construction for water resistance.
