I'm digging the MegaCrop myself. Plants are really healthy at a little over 3 weeks into flower. Been cheating a bit using Big Bud on them but also have their Big Up P/K booster, Carbo and the K booster Rock Steady.

Mixed batch of strains at day 23 of 12.

As an alternative, GH Floranova Bloom, Lucas formula is cheap and easy too. 1 bottle , 8ml/g throughout . ez pz

If you want ez pz I don't think there's much easier than these Mega Crop nutes and I've used a lot of different nutes over the decades but mainly AN.

I've been doing the Lucas Formula kind of feed with my AN 3-part which as far as nutrient content are basically identical to GH so I don't want to get into any discussion about which of those two are better as the MC nutes are a totally different animal.

If a person wanted to use just one nutrient for their plants I'm pretty sure that you couldn't do any better than these. Already has silica, crab meal type stuff and a shitload of aminos that otherwise you'd have to buy 3 more things to get. Other dry nutes like Peter's etc have the basics for general plant health but the MC goes way beyond the basics.

When I first got them and looked at the basic NPK I felt that they were to low in N for veg but liked the PK ratio. Only one plant seems to want more N and that's an AK47 reveg that has a lot of yellowing going on with older leaves. I just added some of my AN Micro to it today to boost the N mainly so will soon see if that is what it needs. All the other plants are still green right to the bottom 3 and a half weeks into flower so don't seem to need more of anything.

I haven't been pH testing my nute mixes either and it all looks good. Initially I checked the pH with RO water using 1g/L and it came out at 6.0. Using my 400ppm, pH 8 tap water from my dugout it came out at 6.5 so it seems pH stable like they claim. Not having to muck around with pH was one of the main reasons I stuck to AN pH Perfect nutes so long. Getting better results with the MC now so what do I do with all the AN?

We all know megacrop is king of cheap and easy, but nova bloom at 8ml/g works well too and is also cheap and easy lol

I disagree with the MC cheerleaders, Megacrop is a pain in the ass.

1. It is super dusty, that smell indicates that you're breathing it every time you open it.

2. It is inhomogeneous, which means you don't get a consistent balance of nutes if you're scooping out just a little bit, like the OP here with two plants.

3. It takes a lot of extra time and stirring to get the big chunks to dissolve.

4. The calcium is built in, so you can't make a stock solution and dose with a syringe.

5. I still had to add more magnesium so it wasn't really a "one part" for me.

For those reasons, I think the three part dry systems like Chem Gro, Jacks, and Master Blend are the way to go. MasterBlend is the cheapest with included shipping on Amazon, much less than MC2. You can make a stock solution of each part and dose with a syringe, which is very precise and accurate but much easier than using a scale. IME, a concentrated solution of MasterBlend dissolves faster and easier than making one fully diluted batch of MegaCrop!

I'll be running some side-by-side with the AN next crop just to see how they do compare but this is the best looking bunch I've had the last few crops. Had mites the last two years so could just be a mite free grow is looking better in comparison. So glad those little demons are gone!

Even the Mega Crop feeding schedule seems way too high for my liking but at least they offer instructions about how to feed to get the right N balance that even the densest nOOb should be able to figure out.

How to Dial In Feeding For Optimal Results

The Feeding Calculator is used as a general starting point for finding the right amount of nutrients to use. Depending on your setup, you may benefit from using more, or less than the suggestion. After running MEGA CROP for a few weeks you can begin to “dial-in” your feeding program, ie: modify it to achieve maximum harvest/results and have the healthiest plants!

Step 1 – Dialing In Nitrogen levels through MEGA CROP dosage by monitor your plants coloring:

• Pay close attention to the green coloring of your plants leaves. Nitrogen levels in MEGA CROP are strongly related to how green your plants leaves will appear
• If your plant leaves are light green or yellow, then increase your dosage of MEGA CROP to boost Nitrogen levels and increase green color
• If your plant leaves are too dark green and/or have burned tips, then scale back your MEGA CROP dosage to reduce the nitrogen.
• Your goal is to have the plants coloring to be a strong healthy green without burning, and you control this by increasing or decreasing the MEGA CROP dosage. If you are a new grower and not sure what color your plants should be at, browse the internet for pictures of healthy plants of your same type. You should make dosage changes for the first time in small amounts, for example changes of 10-20% increase or decrease only, and then waiting 2-3 weeks to monitor plant response after each change. Since the plant has to take time to uptake nutrients and process them, it may take 2-3 weeks to notice the results of the changes you made.

Step 2 – Dialing in your PK boost levels during bloom for maximum yields and resins:

• Once your have achieved proper base nutrient dosage through regulating Nitrogen, then during flowering/blooming phase you can optionally add in PK booster to increase harvest.
• PK Boosters like Bud Explosion have high amounts of P and K, and 0 (N)itrogen, so you can add them in during flowering without risking changing your plants Nitrogen levels
• This may take some time, but you can continually increase PK boosters over several harvests to monitor for increase weight and quality. As long as you do not notice plant damage from increasing the dosage, you can experiment by increasing the dosage, and monitoring the final end results/yields.
• Eventually you will find the dose that maximizes your results/yields, where adding more will not give additional benefit (saturation point).

I know an awful lot of people seem to be using Megacrop and liking it. I don’t know any personally using it. I think the simplicity is part of the appeal.

Yeah it's easy and I don't feel the need to complicate things more than needed. I mean there are growers that can benefit a bit more from more advanced control but far more ppl do more harm than good especially without the knowledge to go with it

Yes but not as much as in veg. When you flip them continue veg feeds a couple of times. They’ll need it for the stretch. After that switch to bloom and suggest keeping nitrogen low.
