Harris: Justice Dept. 'Would Have No Choice' But To Prosecute Trump After Presidency
California Sen. Kamala Harris says that if she's elected president, her administration's Department of Justice would likely pursue criminal obstruction of justice charges against a former President Donald Trump. "I believe that they would have no choice and that they should, yes," Harris told theNPR Politics Podcast, pointing to the 10 instances of possible obstruction that former special counsel Robert Mueller's report detailed without making a determination as to whether the episodes amounted to criminal conduct.

So you're saying that the GOP is a bunch of crooks and the DNC refuses to stop them...
Refuses to stop them and, in addition, the DNC will be more enthusiastic for Biden. A halfhearted team at best. I wish the primary was ranked choice voting. The last election was an absolute clusterfuck as far as judging the DNC. Extremely poor leadership at the highest parts of the organization.

Ya'll muthafuckas musta missed that "Optimism" tag on this thread.

There will be more prison sentences for what happened in 2016. A lot of shit will get better when people see that a president can go to prison. It's bigger than it sounds. It sets a precedent that the US so desperately needs. It also gives hope to that old American dream called upward mobility. If such an oligarch can be cast down, a rich and powerful white man evicted from the White House in disgrace by a black woman who grew up poor, it rekindles the American dream.

Conversely, if he's not punished, it will legitimize everything he has done. People will even push the narrative that he was a great president. We might as well accept Russian hacking and let the NRA write policy. Making Trump face criminal charges is my top issue and it should be a higher priority for everyone. I know of a talented and cunning prosecutor...

Do you support impeachment proceedings?
If it mattered at all what my opinion on this would be, which is doesn't, at this point I think impeachment hearings is a next step, start getting all of the evidence laid out in the public record, then impeach. Too many leaks and not enough sworn testimony by the trumpets. Get them on the hot seat and let them sing.

As long as the senate will make it a waste of time idgaf. In fact I think I would rather wait until 2020 so that it's going on during the election. I would love it if he is impeached on his last fucking day in office so that the senate doesn't even get a chance to acquit him. Either way Harris is going to lock his ass up once she evicts him.

In short I'd rather see a criminal indictment than an impeachment.

If he loses the election, I am guessing Mitch will flip the switch and they'll give him the boot before the next press gets inaugurated.
