The problem is how many are bogus vs. real?

The VAST majority of all the "me too" shit turned out to be bogus.

Of the 117 accusations against Weinstein, only 9 turned out to have any merit.

And of course we've found out today that the whole Kevin Spacey accusation was bogus as well and was a setup conducted by the mother and son team.

Not only did they mysteriously lose the cell phone all this "evidence" was supposed to be on, but when questioned about it today the accuser took the 5th.

So, I don't take anybody's word for this sort of thing anymore.

If you're in his photo gallery? Absolutely. He's guilty as sin.

You have nothing but a story nobody can substantiate? I'm not buying it at all.

No. I'm not automatically believing a story with no proof.

It's called "innocent until proven guilty". It's the entire basis of our justice system.

After all those women (over 110 at one point) told all kinds of stories and all the shit storm of the me too movement, you know how many charges Weinstein faces?

Edit to add: there were 117 accusations against Weinstein all told. Only 87 actually notified police and asked to press charges. Of all of those, only 4 were found credible resulting in the 5 charges against him.

Maybe just take out the "all" part of that, some might have been true but they didn't have enough evidence/details to make a case stick, some may have dropped out after figuring out the harassment they may face.

I think he is just pointing out that when high profile cases are filed like these, you will end up drawing attention from people who may not be telling the truth for whatever reasons people do that kind of thing.

Even in Cosby's case it was ridiculous. You had 60 women making claims.

How many had actual merit? 3. That was it.

imo this is one of the 'cultural land mines' issues.

1/4(ish) women in college were victim of a sexual assault, that basically means in a typical girls dorm room, on avg one of them was the victim. Couple that with the adult male over age of 45ish having relatively small contact with that demographic (even less contact if you factor in 'non-college educated' adult males) that they are not directly related to, this becomes a easy target topic to whip up emotions because it is full of misconceptions and people not being able to talk about it rationally.

These 'groups' are especially easy to categorize using Facebook information.
