4000w Heat! 120°

You're right! I thought he was adding 4000w to an already "heated" situation.

Inside the growroom i have an 8x8 grow tent, the light ducts go from inside the garage through the growroom wall, through the tent, out the top of the tent ,out the cieling of the growroom,and into the attic space. the two light curcuits run completely seperate from the growroom air. The growroom is sealed and i have an air conditioner inside and the temps stay at 85 max.its just the air above and around the growroom thats getting hot.
i installed my new roof vent fan and decided to just run it off an ac adapter and temp controller. Its a 17v motor but i only have a 12v adapter on it. It works, but i think i can pump a little more juice into it and make it go a little faster. Maybe a 15-16 volt adapter would work better.
i cut a 15 " hole in the roof and slid her right in. Its super quite, ill let you guys know how much if any difference it makes.

You said you were short on money but who needs it when u got skills. I like that you came up with an idea and got it done already. I've been wanting a roof vent for a long time but I'm un sure how to do it without it leaking I suck at carpentry (I still do it but not well). I would think that would work pretty well, although during winter you might still have moisture problems up there unless you duct the air from the tent to the fan. Your hot moist air will hit the winter air and before it has time to vent from your roof fan the water will fall out essentially raining in your attic. But it's a simple fix to just buy ducting before it gets cold and hook the roof vent up to the ducting from tent.

Yea i jumped on that fan for $40 bucks, they go for over $150 bucks. It seems to be working great so far, was only 103° today youre right though, i am definitly thinking about winter as well, im planning on (when i get the money) insulating the top of the garage and putting up a vapor barrier. And routing the heat somehow to prevent condensation. I sure dont want to be growing black mold up there or anything of the sort.

Nice, that should help a lot. That's a way better idea than venting straight into the attic. I added a 6" exhaust fan running out my attic like that last time, and it's way better. Mine vents out a soffit vent in my attic. What's crazy is I don't even need to run my dehumidifier anymore, but I am in Colorado. I had to run the dehumidifier in flower to keep Rh down before. Nice setup.

thanks, its cooling down quite a bit since i did that i also flipped my old exhaust fan around so it circulates fresh air in. my tent temperature dropped as well it was about 79 inside today when i checked it. The plants are loving it.

Nice, should keep the ac bill down a little. Might even be better without the reducer at the end, but I'm not an expert at all, so don't know for sure.

well, the vent hole was in a wierd spot, whoever cut the hole cut it right over the top of the rafter. So only about 3/4 of the vent was exposed, i couldnt fit the whole tube inside the hole so i used the end piece that came with the kit. It should work fine, it was made for that.

Oh right on. Ya that still looks great, I just saw the reducer. That makes a lot of sense though. Glad it's working out well for ya. I'm really happy with mine venting out my attic too.
