Never done a clone before what do I need other than some kind of humidity container, rockwoll and rooting hormone? Can probably grab all that stuff here.

I was wondering do you use nugbuckets or nebula's method? or your own entirely?
1. Yes, some rooting hormone and some sort of medium (I use the peat pods like root-riot for everything), a humidity dome, and a heat mat if your temps get cool LOL. One with a thermostat is better. You can keep the sensor in the dome, and it will keep it closer to the right temp (about 77f) Watch a video, or look at the beginning of my monster-cropping thread and there's pics.

2. One of the many tries nugbuckets did. Nebulas is a good idea, but you end up with 4 end cola that are bigger, and 4 middle ones that are smaller. If you read the whole thread about how NB came up with it, letting the first two limbs grow out 3 nodes (keeping 1 & 3) defeats that purpose. I think one of the pics on NB's shows it topped for two, then immediately again for 4. I don't like a long veg, so 4 is about it for me now, but doing 8 by topping those 4 would be my approach.

Hmm may have all the bits I need other than some medium (unless I can use coco or perlite). Assuming hormone doesn't go off - found some in the garage - and I can just use my standard propagator. I've got a thermostat controller I can use for the propagator heater element.

I'll read through the whole NB version if I can find it again :-)

And you can stick clones right in the soil for that matter. They take or they don't.

My go-to method for cloning is to screen some promix thru a 1mm mesh, same as window screen, so the stems have good contact. I always make sure that the cutting has a node that will be below the surface and slice off any growth at the nodes. The medium goes into those flimsy plastic 9-hole seedling pots then watered well. I'll poke holes bigger than the stems so the rooting gel doesn't get wiped off when I put them in.

When I take the cutting I'll dip the last inch in gel and shake off excess then a bit of rooting powder too. Into the holes then use my little pen knife to pack the mix gently around the stem and spritz some water to make sure it's good and wet. Then into a dome and every day lift the dome and spray lots of water on the inside of it and the floor of the tray but not the cuttings. I set each pot in a bit of water and let it suck it up as it dries. I also keep it under lower light like maybe off to the side of the grow light or a 23W 6400K CFL just above the dome. Leave it on 24hrs/day or it seems that 18 hrs is enough if it's off to the side in the veg room. Almost always get 100% that way.

I've built a bubbler using a small Rubbermaid tub with an airstone and RO water with a bit of my 3-part nutes in it. Maybe 300ppm. 1ml/L of each comes out around 300. No gel or other cloning stuff and you get the benefit of seeing as soon as roots form. Can get rot if allowed to stay to long but that didn't seem to hurt ones going into soilless media. I got some of those 2" pucks made for cloning machines and just let them sit on top of the 7/8" holes I made in the lid. Can't have too much plant above the puck or they tend to fall over easily.

I found the extra holes in the sides let it dry too fast so just melt a few extra in the bottoms.

Cheap rooting gel works just as well as that fancy Rootech stuff.

You can see rot starting on a couple of them there because it was too warm and I left them too long. I tried scraping the bottom inch of the stems to help but all the roots came out above scraped areas while those went black and may be why the rot started. Going to be doing a bunch more tomorrow probably in this and some critical ones in the 9-hole pots. Have 12 plants that I need to get copies of as today is their first day of 12/12.

Thanks for the detailed instructions! Either you have that ready to go for people like me, or you wrote it all just then (with old photos) either way thanks so much for your time and aid, it's really appreciated.

Going to have to get to the store to do some cuttings. Will see if i have time today, but it's pretty hectic already.

I do have a whole bunch of saves from past posts but never get around to using those when I do a new, related post. Seems to be more work to edit them to fit than just doing a new one. :)

I need to prep 3 - 9-hole pots so I can take 2 cuttings off each of the 12 plants I started flowering yesterday. Not feeling so great today tho but hopefully get it done.

Never hurts to have a go at cloning when you have cuttings to spare when pruning or break a branch off by accident. Even tiny little ones grow in to full sized plants so you don't need anything special.

About ready to cry to be honest - one baby down, mould :(

Chopped the bud and saved what I could. Checked the others no sign yet.

Should I chop more to increase airflow or just hope it doesn’t get to the others?

Been wet here but had the dh on. I think it’s my own fault as the fan was always rotated with the negative pressure with lights off and obviously didn’t get any air,

Have I left too many fan leaves on? Should I get hacky?

So many depressingly miserable questions.

So close yet so far. Had to cull 2 plants and another cola after closer inspection. Shame I recon the would have been massive when the they were done.

I like aeroponic cloning Or Oasis on perlite beds. I don’t use “rooting” gels anymore as the seem to not be stable in my opinion. Hope the best for you. C7F5C0CB-E7D9-460A-AFA6-83E4133AF49B.jpeg

Sorry about that, I haven't had mold so I don't know what to say. All I do is leave my exhaust on 24/7. I usually only have the fan on with the lights, but switched it because I have a gnat prob. But constant airflow is my only trick.

Search the video "Jorge Cervantes bud wash" and see if that will work for you before you trash everything. I think he's talking about washing off powdery mildew, but the concept might work - especially for any bud that you are saving that you can't see anything on yet.

The fan was always on and the exhaust on full. Just the fan rotated round when the lights were off. and not in an oscillating motion.

Pretty sick of cutting off rotten weed now. Still 1 plant is done.

I haven't quite trashed everything yet...

The Jack cola has gone, the main one from a Kali and the whole of the jagg.

Sad times, but promising for the future. 420g of good bud, 110g of saved bud and some popcorn from the jagg kush. Probably threw away about 100g. Sad that it's gone but very pleased with the potential yield if it had all worked out properly, bring on the future.

I think my basic issue was too many big plants in too small a space which fucked up airflow and they transpired way too much for my climate. Then the big buds couldn't take it. The main jagg colas were nearly 20cm across.

Should have listened when some people said take some leaves off or you'll get rot cos there's no airflow. Learning is fun.

Will check out the bud wash cheers!

If you actually SEE them transpiring, water on leaves that are touching, prune or tuck.
I only saw this in the veg stage, it all seemed really dry in there with the lights on. I suppose the dehumidifier wasn't doing enough when it was outside the tent and temps were cool with the lights off.

It's only the biggest buds (so far) that are affected, the ones I FIM'ed seem ok - touch wood. Another lesson.

Most worried that the delicious candy (x2) will be affected, but hopefully that strain is more resistant and the fact it has loads of smaller buds instead of big ones will help them make it.

I need some kind of proper climate control system really.

and sleep. i need that.

Hope your's is going better.

Hydrogen Proxide is what some bud washes are. Just water with extra oxygen, which does clean your plants and kills all bad germs and leaves all good germs. Do not wash cold, room temp. And wash fresh as possible

Yes, undress them ladies a little and let them show off. Also pull air when the wake up and go to sleep, pull it out of the room.

Small Dehumidifier as well

Hope the Best.

That's what the video is.

If you don't recognize names like Jorge Cervantes, or Jack Herrer, read more ;).

Jorge isn't trying to sell some magic bud-wash. He shows the ratios of h2o2 to garden hose water...

A dehumidifier will not do much of anything if you have:
some kind of proper climate control system...
LOL

Just like co2 bags. If you have proper circulation your air should be exchanged at least once every few minutes. So for a 4x4x7 tent you would have 112cu.ft. A 120cfm fan would theoretically exchange the air once per minute. More is better. You can have too much fans, but you can't have tooo much exhaust unless it starts dropping your temps too low.

Also look at where you suck air from. You might need to duct it from a cooler area.
