4x8 Tent Set Up-HPS AND BIG YIELDS

Bouta run a 4x8 tent with two 900-1000w hps cool tubes in 8 10 gallons pots. Im wondering what kind of yields I can expect from this grow. Im planning on using a high yielding strain and want at least 112g dry from each plant. Is this doable?

You should be able to net 2-3 lb's depending upon strain, growing conditions, and plant training. If you're going to do an 4x8 with cool tubes, I would strongly suggest a digital environmental controller like a Saturn 5 by Titan controllers. There are other brands out there as well. If you shop things well enough, you should be able to obtain a decent controller for around $150, maybe less. Obviously make sure that you have proper tent ventilation and consider picking up a small dehumidifier unit online (even it's just one of those little thermal non-condenser units) -- but get one with a drain hose so it never gets full or needs emptied. You should be able to get both of those items for less than $250 and it'll make a significant difference for you. Not only will caring for your tent be 10x easier, but you'll be able to dial in the exact conditions needed for maximum yield. Even if you see only a 10-15% increase in your yield -- that's still 3-4 ounces of added yield which obviously pays for the small added expense several times over on the first harvest.

If you ever plan on upper your grow down the road with CO2, spend another $75 and pick up the Saturn 6 by Titan. These MSRP list for $450+ but you can get them for less on eBay if you watch it -- I got both of mine for around $250 each!

Also -- if you have the space for it, why not do two 5x5 tents instead of one 4x8? It will add another 60% of grow space for a similar amount of space taken up. 50 sq ft vs. 32 sq ft -- that's a big difference. One air-cooled 1000 HPS per 5x5 tent and you can still connect their ventilation the same way. If you wanted you could supplement with some LED QB's down the road -- you'd have full light spectrum and the best of both. You can cheaply pick up some HLG's to provide improved foot print and light intensity in time.

Not only are you gaining more grow space, but you can run a perpetual grow style this way. And if you select an 8 week strain, you could reasonably expect a harvest every 4.5 weeks give or take. Also in you live in an area with hot summers like most of us, you could run the lights on opposite schedules to keep temps down as well. Ie: If you're in 12/12 run one 5x5 tent for the first half of the day and the second 5x5 for the 2nd half of the day. It's always a good idea to leave room for expansion down the road. Just a thought

How long would would I have to veg white widow in this setup for at least 112g per plant?

White Widow is a great strain for high yield and quick flower. The more obvious question is how many plants are you looking to grow? For peak production you should consider SCROG or SOG depending upon your space allowed for cloning. If you have the veg space to clone lots of plants, go for SOG. In a 5x5 you could aim for 2-4 plants per sq foot if you're doing hydro, otherwise 1 plant per sq foot for soil. In a 5x5 tent you could cram 50 12 inch plants or maybe 100 6-8" plants with hydro. Then you have main cola's, no airy branchy buds, just super dense rows and rows of super dense bud from base to tip. This is where you can see really big yields. Scrog requires more veg time and careful training to provide an even height for your canopy but requires only a couple plants. SOG doesn't require any training and basically little to no veg time after clone, you just have to try and keep your plants at an even height or top the taller ones a few days to a week before 12/12. If you go with one of those two grow strategies you will see higher returns for your efforts and less hassle too. SOG especially runs into few plant problems because you're jumping right from cloning to flower (unless you veg for an extra week or two depending upon plant counts). Depends upon what you're going for really.

Someone like myself is most attracted to (1) automation (because I don't have all day every day to mess around), (2) maximum efficiency because I want the biggest bang for my buck, and (3) perpetual harvests so I can pace the work flow with my time while always having lots of quality flower on hand (I don't want nothing to do for several weeks and then days upon days of labor). You have to figure out where your priorities are, what you can afford, how flexible your time is with your life, how much space you're working with for this hobby, and what your sum gain goals are for outcomes. Ya feel me?

I’m just saying with the setup I said at the top with the 8 10 Gallon pots under hps how long would it take me to reach 112g per plant? I just need to know cause that is my goal and summers soon and I’m going to be on vacationing so I don’t want to leave my plants so I want to reach my goal before it’s that time ya feel?

I would strongly suggest vegging under metal halide.
But with that sort of wattage I would of though 3 weeks from clone or 5 from seed.

I used to veg for 3 under less power in 5gal pots and get 3.5oz per clone.

I would aim to fill your space properly and look at 6-8weeks veg pull 8oz a plant.
Count 9 weeks for flower.

I'm a new grower and new to this site and this is some of the most sage and succinct advice I've read here. Thank you.

Yep.
Might be less if you want less. Your pot size and lighting is bigger than I ran in my 4x8 flower tent. But I ran same plant numbers allowing 2x2 for each plant, although my set up was staggered perpetual.

If you want a quicker turn around then round double the plants and half the veg time.

looking for less this time about 4 ounces per cause I might not have someone to take care of my plants on vacation. Would a 4 week veg and 9 weeks for flower be good for that?

It will depend how quick they grow if your going from seed. Clones are a lot faster.
I don't start enough seeds to know by how much to be honest. For years I start some maybe once a year and then run clones.
I would ask those who grow mostly from seed , maybe go to the breeders section where everyones popping beans all the time ask around.

When u say I can amount 2-3 lbs how long of a veg would that take to reach at least a goal of 2 with the setup and strain I have.

I have a 4' × 4' tent and grow 6 plants in 5 gallon pots under 1000w MH/HPS light, and veg time is about 6 weeks from sprout average yield per plant is 3 plus ounces.
