Vero 29C Minimun Current?

Hello there!

I've looked everywhere I can not find any specific data about this, I know that V29C working at 700mA gives you like 45w per COB, I would like to know which is the minimum V29C can run? Has anyone tried this?

I aim for 400w per square meter, and my next fixture with V29C @ 700ma delivers like 500~550w, I would like to know if it is possible to go a litter lower than that.

Cobs can be ran at damn near a watt and will illuminate somewhat.

That's good to know!

So if I continue going down, efficiency will go up? I reckon V29C @ 700ma does like 207lm/w, or the eff. graph kind of go down after certain point.

Anyway... that solved my issue already.

Thanks for the reply

PD. Is there any Driver that could drive 8 x V29C @ 700(or 1050) or less dimming capable?

What do you think of my fixture?

Thanks in advance

That the 69volt version?
Also, have you already purchased them?

Very cool fixture, but just know in reality the cobs and strips will be much smaller than on your drawing and everything will get much further spaced apart. But that's a good thing.

Thanks!

Those are indeed the 69v version, Vero 29C.

Didn't order yet, want to get some feedback on my fixure. Yeah I know they are, but for the better, strips on center to avoid hotspots and give the panels a "full spectrum"

Will be something like 360w (V29C @ 3k), 40w (LTQ22A 4k), 20w (LTQ22A, 5K) and on the future will add those deep and far red for a few watts more and improve yield.

Thank you very much for the feedback Airwalker16!

The C version kinda sucks cause it restricts you to using CC drivers. And if that's what you wanna really do, you got 2 optiona to have all on one driver.

HLG-480H-C1400
HLG-480H-C1750(damn near Max this driver out perfect with 4 Vero29C.

You'd run 2 parallel series of 4 to split the current to 700 or 875 but your 272 total volts together still remain within the 343 and EXACTLY PERFECT 274 Max voltages of those 2 drivers.

Can I ask why you want to use vero? I am pretty sure that luminous cobs out perform them and are cheaper

If you haven't bought em, scratch all that and get the 36V I think D Version.
Opens up a whole other type of CV drivers to use and more ways to apply it to other CC drivers

And I think Teknik's right. Luminous are cheaper and I think just as good if not better. I like Vero too though :) poke in connectors bad Ass

I think the new luminous is the best on the market at the moment, can easily get holders from someone like cob kits too

I just reworked my Vero C fixture today. The Cobs now run between 6W (dimmed) and 14W (200mA) each. No issues.

I choose Vero 29C because it's the best performing COB atm, New luminous offer a 4% increase in efficiency from previous gen, but I think they WONT beat Vero29C (all others variations yes), still waiting for MIGRO review of both of them, i'll see the winner there, but I think new luminous wont outperform the V29C tbh.

Do you have any data/research showing Luminous COBs efficiency? 207 lm/w at 700ma is hard to beat, and 45w offers really really good penetration troughout the plant.

Maybe I can stick with 2 drivers for each panel, that's no problem.

I have in hand 16x Vero18D 3500k will be runing them at 700ma, 2 cobs per heatsink in a simillar configuracion to perform some test on Pot size/veg time/mainlining size.

last gen luminus were neck and neck with veroC below 70W

new gen luminus are 8-10% more efficient in my tests. not sure vero has bumped their spec in that time

F%CK! So my intel is all wrong, well... better safe than sorry. Will begin again with the build.

I took the 207lm/w from some sheet from the internet, and 29C are renowned fron being efficiency king. But you guys are the ones who know.

I know Bridgelux anounced an update on their gen 7, but they only exist on datasheets right now.
It is still Gen 7, but with slightly (4%) improved efficiency

So which Luminus would be the perfect replacement for Vero29C?

Given the fixture I want to build, which Luminous/Driver should I use for 8 COBs per panel?

i think calculators are really only useful for comparing models within one mfr's stable

STILL, its almost impossible to gauge Tc accurately which can skew the numbers pretty dramatically
