Time will tell i suppose connoisseur!? I remember the 1st time i defoliated. I removed all upper fan leaves lol. and heads just didn't seem to get that final bud swell. (May of had nothing to do with the defol) but that's what this is all about. Trying to get max yield/quality from the artificial light we use and in small grow spaces/rooms. Not outdoor gorilla grows lol. When guys are getting 3 a light using this method, that's no joke! Shows the potential once mastered!!

These 2 videos were my main motivation..Before this i was just too scared to do this defoliation..I did scrog with specific deleaf..
But finally i changed my mind..
Till now everything is better in my opinion!



I didnt like this jungle..this bushy jungle..but i was scared to leaf strip..once i saw these videos i was sure that this is the technic of the future!

Yeah I've seen them! Crazy good. I think his thinking is to provide the plants with everything they need in every part of the flowering stage. As the plants dont need to rely on big fan leaves for food or protection against insects etc. Really cool! Shows the possibilities aye bro! I think also as long as your not putting too much light on the floor. Just enough to see its getting light penetration but not enough to really waste it is a good thing to keep an eye on!?

Well man if i understood your question,
i think i shouldnt defoliate more than that.
I wanted to have full penetration and airflow but not to make any problem on the plants.
I wouldnt do more and i wouldnt do less than what i did.
Also, they will get fat as f@ck so they will cover the gaps..
About waste of energy..i dont really care. If its going to be a problem about the performance of my crop, i forget it in a sec!:D

There was a guy on here, cant remember who it was but i had a look at his grow journal and he pretty much did what you did. He defoliated like yours at day 21 and they still grew heaps more foliage and looked full but had alot of light penetration through his plants. They grew nice big colas!! I've also been told that when you remove a heap of leaves like that early in flower it makes the plant focus on bud development and not leaves?? There was a grow by nebula haze that made me change my mind on defoliation. Not sure if youve seen it but she had 2 plants in Dwc. I know 1 strain was blackjack. And she got something like 22 ozs from a 600w. She had a longer veg time and also manifolded. But shows you a mini time lapse before during and after her defol. And with the light hitting the floor. I think its more about wasted light that the plant could be using rather than wasted electricity. I've done what you did too connoisseur and researched pretty hard on defoliating. Alot that I have seen defoliated at around day 21 and dont really touch it after that and it's amazing how much more foliage the plants get after day 21! And yours looks VERY similar. I reckon if you keep the girls happy and healthy then you might be in for a nice surprise!! "Wink"

Sorry connoisseur, dont think she shows the part where she defoliated in this one?? But i know she gives it a good stripping! I've also looked into nebula hazes defoliation techniques and she pretty much removes all fans with a stalk on them! I think she was the one that said the plants seem to concentrate their efforts into bud production and not maintaining a lush bush of leaves!?

Haha dude i am trying EVERY SINGLE MINUTE to do the best for my girls..
I wish i had a camera to show you the progress after only 2 days..
She is changing hour by hour..
Personally i am pretty happy with this grow!
Also yes bro, i have seen all this content about defoliation..thank you for your sharing..i didnt miss anything bilieve me...
After much reasearch and overthinking i ended up here !
About bud production..yes i bilieve that the plant doesnt need any fanleaves from week 4 and after..so they are only problems..high humidity, bugs, light coverage...only problems!
I bilieve this type of grow..i mean sog(every type of sog) with schwagger is the best combination to grow..

I think I'm in the same boat. I think you just gotta do it and find out for yourself! But watching yours for a few weeks will definitely help me as I'm about to flip soon. I'll be interested to see how your girls foliage develop over the next couple of weeks! I reckon itl fill out nicely bro!!

I know that the foliage will come like shiet..i dont want it..cause i ll not defoliate again..only specific leaves..so the less foliage,the better for the buds..
Image how would be done if i never defoliated..LOL
Adopt this method as soos as possible bro..
Check the progress from here..
And then you will not be able to avoid that :P
Also they keep stretching a little bit..:weed:

I think from what I've seen it doesn't so much grow new leaves, just the ones it has got get alot bigger? One guy on here swears by when the leaves get bigger and grow a stalk then pluck it. Not saying you should do that, that's just how he does it. I personally wouldnt remove any leaves tucked right into the buds. Maybe let it go for a while and then reassess? Before week 5. (Some do a 2nd light defol then just before bud development really kicks in. I did a decent defol about 4.5 weeks into flower with that chemdawg i was telling you about and I know it slowed her to a halt for about 3 days! Maybe I went a bit too hard too late?

Well man based on the strain, after week 4 i think its a little bit late..
It will not create new leaves yes..only those who has now will get bigger.
Also..i dont have in the plan other defoliation..i bilieve that you said..it will stun them..i ll only take specific leaves which covers other heads..and ofc i dont touch the leaves which come from inside of the buds!
I cant w8 to update it really!

Well, she is already have been revived..the bud production is working finaly, the are getting fatter every single day..
The leaf grow also works.. but i dont know if i should be happy about this....
Unluckily i dont have camera shiet..
But the good things late to come.haha!
