this is understandable when used in the face of oppression to protect yourself and your family. Not aware of it. Is this what you are talking about?
Taqiya (تقیة, taqiyyah/ taqīyah, literally "prudence, fear, caution") is an Islamic term referring to precautionary dissimulation or denial of religious belief and practice in the face of persecution. This practice is emphasized in Shia Islam whereby adherents are permitted to conceal their religion when under threat of persecution or compulsion. However, it is also permitted in Sunni Islam under certain circumstances.
it is not understandable when expanded into every day dealings with people of other faiths who are not oppressing you, when used to deceive, mislead, and cover up misdeeds.
not saying anyone in particular is doing this...but some people are. there are extremist on all sides, and none of them are doing anything good. there are over 4200 recognized religion, and at least one zealot in each one...
