Been missing in action due to being in action. This is a warning to those who ignore politics and who don't vote.

Alaska was the 5th state to legalize recreational marijuana. We are the reddest of the red states. We receive a check every year. This is derived from oil taxes and royalties. The last Governor okayed this payment at $1800 last year. He did it by basically halving the due payment. People flipped out even after the Governor laid out why including the fact WE HAVE NOT RECOVERED AT ALL FROM THE ECONOMIC DISASTER WROUGHT BY BUSH!

Mike Dunleavy ran for the Republicans with a promise of a FULL payment along with 3 years of extra payments to make up for what was cut before. Basically $4500 @ year for the next 3 years. Everything else but "we're going to be tough on crime and criminals" was absent.

The first thing this motherfucker does is fire Marijuana Control Board members he could and replaced them with 2 prohibitionists. One a bitch from Fairbanks who spent her entire time on the borough council fighting pot. Fighting license requests, complaining about the odor and more.

The second? A fucking Alaska State Trooper who believes in enforcing ALL laws including federal.

The kicker? Virtually every legal cannabis grower or business owner is strongly pro- conservative. Republican voters all.

Watch your backs and prepare for the inevitable blowback from the haters once it's legal. If it's actually made legal.

Wouldn't you say "marijuana control board members" are already prohibitionists and some are just worse than others?

Doesn't a "control board" make recommendations on what people are "allowed" to do or not do ?

So, what you seem to be saying is you'd like kinder masters that will "allow" greater privilege and treat their subjects better?

And you want people to get involved in politics and cry to master for new shoes and warm socks.

Same issues here in michigan as far as they want to regulate it so hard that only the rich will be able to participate. I voted dem for our gov because the rep was our old AG and he was a huge player here against the medical program. I hope she does a good job for the people here.

I wondered where if you were out in the bush lately
Glad you are back
This is the shits. He fired every state employee and made everyone reapply. He is Trump on steroids. The amazing part is the overwhelming support and votes from the legal cannabis folks. Now they're wondering what will become of them. 200 license applications in the queue and 200 nervous people waiting.

BOGOTA, Colombia – Promising the drug crackdown demanded by President Donald Trump, a young, conservative and unusually pro-Trump leader took power in Colombia on Tuesday, as Washington celebrated an ally against leftists including the anti-American president of next-door Venezuela.

Standing in rain and a stiff wind before a wall of roses and other flowers in historic Bolivar Plaza, newly elected President Iván Duque listed the expansion of coca production, corruption and the terror of drug cartels among the problems he will address. He also pointed to a rise in killings of social-movement leaders as one of the threats to the country’s fragile peace pact that ended five decades of war.

Donald J. Trump was burning through cash.

It was early 2016, and he was lending tens of millions of dollars to his presidential campaign and had been spending large sums to expand the Trump Organization’s roster of high-end properties.

To finance his business’s growth, Mr. Trump turned to a longtime ally, Deutsche Bank, one of the few banks still willing to lend money to the man who has called himself “The King of Debt.”

Mr. Trump’s loan request, which has not been previously reported, set off a fight that reached the top of the German bank, according to three people familiar with the request. In the end, Deutsche Bank did something unexpected. It said no.

Senior officials at the bank, including its future chief executive, believed that Mr. Trump’s divisive candidacy made such a loan too risky, the people said. Among their concerns was that if Mr. Trump won the election and then defaulted, Deutsche Bank would have to choose between not collecting on the debt or seizing the assets of the president of the United States.
