alright alright .. some of you guessed right ... #3 is CFL !!!
the other 2 are 400W MH

i was amazed also to see it was growing faster than my plants under MH
maybe its the 24 hour constant light or maybe that it is 3-4" away from the plant ??
ill post another pic of these 3 when i get home

and somebody owes me ANYTHING !!!:bigjoint:

Lol...that'll be me...its very interseting for sure.I jave had a similar experience..I had some seedlings under FULL sunlight(I live in a very tropical place)..and I had some seedlings(same genetics, nedioum, watering, etc)under 3 cfl's...the ones under the sun had tiny leavs, and was growing SLOW...and the ones under the cfls grew faster and healthier...wierd.

Hence the reason I will use CFL's when the time for growing comes =]

I noticed that in CFL grows that I've observed (I have a few VERY close friendsbongsmilie) that the leaves appear greener/healthier, and theres less yellowing? Maybe I'm wrong... but interesting experiment:leaf:

heres the pic from today ... after another 2 days

i have taken the smaller MH plant #2 and moved it to a CFL also lets see if it catches up or grows bigger than the #1 which will remain under MH light

Some phenotypes grow faster than others, I have grown seeds all the same strain and had some grow twice as fast as any other. So unless you redo the experiment with 3 clones in the same conditions it really won't prove much.

are these in the same room?.. I mean heat and all....

i was going to guess 1 and 2 are MH just cause dry soil and if an experiment i'm sure your experimenting with CFLs so you wouldn't grow 2 in the experiment and risk not having as good of bud if it didn't work out. just deductive reasoning and guessing.

True, that would be the best way to do it... but im a month or 2 away from cloning...

BUT ... all 3 of these little plants started their life under MH for about 7-8 days .. all were about the same size... i only moved 1 to cfl, 6 days later it started to exceed the growth of the other plants.

NOW that i have moved another one from the group(#2) which is smaller than the last test subject under MH
If this plant also responds the SAME way, i believe this is a good indication that the seedlings will grow better under a CFL 4" away 24hr light VS 18/6 MH @ about 24 " away

i like your reasoning, but i currently have about 17 seedlings growing
i dont even know how im gonna manage all these plants yet ...

very interesting.... i have wondered about this myself, but never had the resourses/space to do a comparison.... maybe my next grow will be cfl to see what i think about em.

my one plant i have now is being grown outdoor/indoor.... before i started to leave her outside to start flowering, i was bringing her inside in the evening to go under A cfl to keep in veg... kinda expected it to stretch b/c of the cfl (1x42w), but much to my surprise, she seemed to be showing more growth after the night under the lights than she did after a day in the sun.... i know that makes no sense, and plz dont think im in any way trying to say that cfl's are better than sunshine, but i do believe that more thought/research needs to go into these cfls.....

i'll be watching this one

I personally HATE cfl's...the planst grow slwer and its more frustrating than if they were grown under a powerful light source, like hps or mh...or better yet,the sun.More lumens makes the plant grow faster and healthier....I have some under cfl's right now,and they are CRAWLING...

wow.. very interesting... it makes me feel like i made the right choice by adding cfls under my hps..hehehe... MY plants have always loved it... I just didnt want my ladies to suffer without the blue light spectrum.. and i didnt want to spend 100$ on a bulb...

I have around 11 cfl's for 3 Snow White...I've vegged them for 33 days today with my cfl's (you can see them at my grow journal). The cfl's simulated spring to early summer now I'm going to add a 400w hps to simulate summer to early fall. I'll keep them vegging for 2 more weeks with the hps then top the 3 mother's keep them vegging. Once clones get sufficient roots I'll put them to flower and keep the rotation going.

Good job! What are temps like in there?
