Will def be putting in good floor drainage and water access. Honestly considering running an automated watering system, altho as of now, i really enjoy hand watering, think i would like it even more if i had more space to work with around my plants.
Yes its legal and not overly concerned about smell once i move to the new space, in the basement i have to be, happy wife/happy life and all that lol
I have looked at a few diy samsung led builds, will continue to research lights and various options as i get closer to really setting things up.
I will for sure have 2 separate rooms for veg and flowering. I was planning on building both rooms within 1 big space tho. Running a dual head mini split or a heat pump .

Day 15 flower
Everything is stretching fairly consistant. Nothing too crazy like I expected tho.
Temps
78f / 53rh lights on
69f / 50rh lights off
They are starting to feel light. Tomorrow morning I assume they will be ready to take water. Ph water with cal mag and amor si. No nutes next feed.
Buds really starting to form nicely on 2 of the 4. The same 2 girls that have been front running since they sprouted.
The other 2 are doing well, buds also forming nice, just not quite as fast as the first two.

FP3 and the Atomic are a little behind but still doing well.
I think its pretty clear, FP1 and FP2 are different phenos? still learning all the grower lingo lol. FP1 has much thinner leaves, is stacking up much different and the smell is not the same as her sister.
They will be watered later today

Do you feed nutes early in the day when lights come on, every 3rd or 4th day? And then water every few days just before lights go out?
Thats how my neighbor has done it (under MH and hps) for many years.

No , my work schedule dictates that they are fed or watered in the mornings when lights come back on.
Everything I do is normally done shortly after lights coming on. While in veg it was a little different with the longer hours to work with but not since flipping to flower.
I usually give them an hour to wake up then I do what needs doing.

Hey everyone, got a bit of spare time this morning so i decided to give a complete run down of this grow and will include 1 pic from each week once real growth started.. That way if anyone wanted to really see the difference from one week to the next it will all be in this post. Pics will start at beginning of week 3 Day 15 veg.
3 x Heavyweight Fruit punch & 1 x Atomic by Bomb seeds
4x4 tent
600watt MH for veg & 600watt hortilux super HPS for flower
6" inline fan and carbon filter
2 x hurricane clip on fans
Fox Farms Ocean Forrest + 30% Perilite
General Hydroponics Floranova Bloom ( Lucas formula)
Tap water ph`d 6.2-6.6 ( let water sit for 24-48 hours to allow chlorine to burn off)
Solo cups ----> 2g Fabric pots ------> 5g Fabric pots
I have managed to keep temps and humidity in check. Had to buy humidifier right away for the tent, but since then its all been on auto pilot really. 78-80f / 60% rh in early veg, decreased it to 50% rh as they grew.
I began training these girls early and often, topping each girl 2-3 times, constantly tying everything down and opening them up to the light. They respond very well to being trained.
Plants were given a 25% dose of nutes week 5 but immediately began showing signs of N tox, forum member helped me catch it quick and advised me to lay off nutes for another watering or two because FFOF was known to have lots in it already. I then waited until end of week 6 ( day 44 veg) and began feeding them 500ppm of floranova bloom. They responded well. Moral of that story is these 4 plants all grew nicely in FFOF for 45 days without needing anything except water. NEWBIES DREAM lol
I flipped them 2 days later. 46 days of veg
Since then i have ramped up the ppms to 1000 for each feeding. i expect they can still take higher feedings as they really seem to enjoy feed days.
We are now currently day Day 18 of flower and things are moving along nicely. Buds forming , smelling dank, starting to really see the work and patience pay off lol.
I will end the rambling here, if this summary post helps even one newbie like myself, it would have been worth it.

i have not used co2.. not a sealed room, just a tent.
I just use the passive vents along with negative pressure from inline fan. constantly cycling fresh air in and taking stale air out

I did a lot of reading on CO2, and what I got from it was that the little bags and such are gimmicks. The pro growers that use it have rooms that are pretty much sealed, and have tanks with regulators to maintain a certain level of CO2. So all reports that it is beneficial are apparently correct.
That said the amount of CO2 saturation needed to make a difference in a small home grow would be tough to maintain when you factor in the exhaust fan. Mine is probably replacing the air in the closet every minute. But in late flower with max heat I may move 350cfm (full speed) in about an 80 cubic foot space
For a closet or tent you would need a tank and regulator, or at a minimum dampers on your intake and exhaust closed to make it work. This means it would have to happen at night when the lights are not on. Further reading revealed that CO2 does the most good when the plant is processing light.
So IMHO (in my humble opinion) there are too many things pointing towards it not being worth the effort for a small home grow, and that the money could be better spent on better nutes, lights, more seeds, etc.

yep this is exactly how i understand it as well.
Sealed room, commercial grow and huge amounts of plants, ya it would be a necessity ....But A small grow tent for 4 plants?, i see no point what so ever.
Like yours, my fan is exchanging the air at a pretty good rate, even on low setting.

Thank you for the detailed journal...I haven't started a grow yet, still acquiring essentials (and reading...reading) and building a dedicated grow shed....I've got a 135w QB (most costly acquisition so far) I'm hoping to use from start to finish...

My closet is 3x3x8, so 81sqft less the platform at the bottom, the huge fan and filter, the pot full of dirt, and the plant. Probably closer to 70sqft. 70cfm would move the air once per minute...

Ya im using a 4x4 tent
went overkill mode on the fan, grabbed a 440 cfm for real good price, idea was when i went bigger the fan would work in the bigger space.
Its working perfectly on lowest setting, temps and rh have all been holding steady at 78f/50rh. Plants seem healthy and growing.
I am still so far behind on the technical aspect of growing equipment, i can tell you whats good and whats not, but probably have a hard time telling anyone why lol.

Well you already sound way ahead of most of the new guys around here. You started with a top of the line light and your doing proper reading and research before you begin. Nice job.
Those 135s look great. Thats investing money wisely. I went with the HID setup , mainly because the LEDS/cobs i wanted were all very expensive for same wattage. But i will say this, those QBs or cobs will be a part of my growing arsenal at some point in the future.
It wont be a coincidence when your first grow reflects the work you put in before starting.
