Could you provide a source that explains “the war had already been won”. I’m not saying your wrong, because yes, all I’ve ever heard was that prolonging it would have cost many more US lives. If I had a beef with a “country” and the only way to stop that country from continuing to bomb my country was to bomb them, ya I would bomb the living fuck out of em. If the family next door was taking pot shots at you every time you went out doors and nobody was stopping them would you be justified in shooting back?
If the family next door was taking pot shots at me, I would defend myself against those individuals who were doing the shooting.

I would not shoot babies and innocent members of the family who were not shooting at me. That would be assigning guilt based on a single familial characteristic rather than an actual action...like a racist would do.

Nationalism and racism are very similar in that regard. Sorry to hear you think it's okay to bomb a "country" and kill innocent people. With that obedient and brainwashed mindset we'll never get to a more peaceful world.

War was won...
Do you consider a fight "over" when your subdued opponent mouths the word "uncle" or is it over when you have subdued your opponent and they are at your mercy?

My family has a small cottage rental business and my old man would not let a family from Ottawa let their black friend stay, told them he does not allow coloured people stay......i was like WTF you can’t do that!!! “I can do what ever I want, it’s my property”. Sounds just like Rob’s eutopian world doesn’t it.
If you really wanted to take a stand you could have done something. You could have written a note to your racist dad and explained your position and let him know you were disassociating from him...until he recants. Did you inherit this property and is it yours now?

The blame for that rest solely on the Emperor himself.

  • He was told we had the bomb.
  • He was told the power it had.
  • He was told we'd use it if he didn't surrender.
He refused to surrender. That's on him, not us. It was us or them. It sure as shit wasn't going to be us. We didn't start the war, they did. They were given every opportunity to surrender and refused to do so.

And how fucking stupid were they? How little did they think of their own people? Even AFTER they saw the power of the first bomb, they REFUSED TO SURRENDER AGAIN!!!

That is, has always been and will always remain the fault of one man: Emperor Hirohito of Japan.

You are guilty of assuming that a war is "won" when figureheads get together and "officially" end it by signing a bunch of horseshit documents. Is the "not war" in Korea still going on because the pompous ass leaders didn't sign a formal end to it?

A war (fight) is won when your opponent is at your mercy. Like if you and I were in a room and you got mouthy and called me an idiot and I picked you up with one hand and pinned you against the wall while your dangling legs were kicking like a babies and urine was running down your leg from fear. Even if I didn't make you say that "Rob Roy was your super daddy" the fight would be over, because you would be completely at my mercy.

excuse me if i don't take many of your opinions seriously....you invent reality as you need it, and tailor pre-existing reality to fit your needs, so it's hard to take anything you say seriously.....i'm not really disputing your statement...just your veracity in general.....like trying to get factual information from a fantasy novel.....it might be there...but only because it supports the fantasy

the United States had to get the permission of Great Britain to drop the bombs. we had the Quebec agreement, and had agreed to not unilaterally use the bombs without the consent of our closest partner at the time...we were preparing for an invasion of japan at the time, which would have ended the war...at what cost?...226,000 doesn't seem that out of line to me....we offered them the opportunity to surrender, and they refused. it not only took the bombings, but Russia finally declaring war on japan for them to surrender.....
the bombings were horrific, and i hope they never are used again....but don't try to white wash the role the Japanese played in this, because it helps assuage your guilt....

Your slave mentality and fawning acceptance of your status as an enslaved subject of government and it's edicts and mandates is screaming throughout your post. Yes, let's talk about "reality" .

Do you believe you own yourself ?

Pretty mouthy today, aren't we?

The only thing you can pick up with one hand with urine running down a leg is your very tiny penis.

And everybody pretty much knows that.

What's the age of consent today?

Yes, dumbass.

That you have to actually clarify that an official treaty ending hostilities actually ends the hostilities is fucking amazing. The armistice signed in 1953 officially ended hostilities between the U.S and North Korea. Not one single shot has been fired by North Korea at the United States or vice versa ever since.

God damnit, man. You're TOTALLY fucking gone. I don't mean just 'round the bend. I mean out of your fucking mind completely!

As a retired officer in our USAF. I will say dropping those bombs were morally wrong. Japan was set to surrender after the invasion of the Red Army. .They did realize fighting the Soviets in the North and America in the South was not going to get them a win. The soviets entering the fight was the bigger cause for surrender.
Japan was already used to losing big cities and casualties with constant bombing of cities. Americans had already destroyed 66 Japanese cities with a massive fire bombing campaign and in one night, 100,000 civilians were killed in in Tokyo before the nuke drop.
We need to be very carful in the things we justify, the future may have others justifying wrongs as well. Nukes are not a way to win a war.

I tend to agree.

But people didn't think like we do today 75 years ago.

And I tend to think a bomb would have been used somewhere after 1945 if those bombs weren't dropped in August, 1945.

I believe that seeing their actual destructive power helped avoid using them again, not that it was right.

Oh I had many discussions with him, I was 16 when that happened btw. Is that what your children did, have they disassociated from you? But does that not sound somewhat like your world? To refuse someone a service only because you feel you can?

We had a new toy and we needed to test it out. We did, causing 140,000 civilians death. Russia claims to have a new toy, will they be testing it out also ?

I asked for sources? And it’s over when the bombs stop coming at my country. When does it stop for you? And when the bullets are flying at you and you inadvertently hit the one pacifist in the family what then? Do you run to your back yard and hang your self? Stop being stupid, your losing.

When are you taking a stand? Why are you interested in my land, would you like to rent a cottage? All are welcome jsyk.
Edit: sorry I would have to ask you to leave once you voiced your opinion on a 12 year old consenting to sex, yes I have limits.
