Yes. I used some low stress and high stress training to grow the lower branches horizontally so they grow outwards and up to soak up the light.

Be careful running those at 100% brightness. I recently picked up a very similar unit from them and have had reflectors and COB holders burn and melt. Since then, I've been running it at about 80% and removed the reflectors. I have yet to contact Timber about the issue. Just a heads up. Maybe it's just my unit, maybe not.

Your post is misleading at best. Cooliance custom makes our heatsinks for us and they are operated well within the limits of their recommendations.

I was going to use cobs until I found out about Fluence Spydr X. I like the form factor better. I see way less shadow. The array is far better for penetration. I think cobs would be good in a multiple light set up to lessen the shadow effect. I must say plants live the Spydr X.

Timber should address the fact that the PLC 6.2 put out 1.93 umol/joule with a vero B and 2.08 with a vero c with passive cooling, yet in the timber fixtures they mysteriously put out 2.25-2.33 with the same setup. Beware.

From what I see from the OP, TimberGrow is proven. I am sorry some of you also have good experience with other brands, but that doesn't negate the gains you also get from Timber. They are in fact a very reputable company with a great customer service that comes with their warranty.

Hey no issues, I don't know about their product because I've never seen it in use. I would love to do a side by side comparison with a Spydr x fixture, heck they may be just as good and be cheaper too? Spydr X is a 1500 dollar light! Aint cheap! So far pretty impressed though, the dimmer is pretty basic but reliable, the fixture is well built and can be full nuts without failure.

The OP's fixture for 600w to cover the same 4x4 space is about $900. You think the SpyderX is giving $600 more in performance for the same space? I have to say no. Can they be better, of course. But again, how much better do you get for $600 extra? Cost vs production is heavily in Timbers favor at the moment.

If my light can reach the same PAR with less input ?If my light can create more PAR with the same input? Big one there! How much heat is created by the lights? So you will get 3 years and whatever comes after the warranty expires. Timber is a VERY VERY sturdy fixture. Again, I am not trashing SpyderX. I am more about cost to performance ratio.

And if I turn my light down to the same input power what will the PAR be in each lamp?
Yep you are right price per par is a pretty good argument though.
But.. I say that lightly pardon the pun.. I only have 4x4 foot area I want to maximize the light getting in there. Maybe the money saved will not buy the supplemental light I could get with a different fixture?

You can DIY for less than $1.00 / watt as alternate.

Thanks for the post, and apologies for not having gotten back to you. I cannot speak on the behalf of other companies specifications. I can tell you that our lights are currently undergoing ETL certification, which will include updated 3rd party testing results including goniophotometer and integrating sphere testing results. Our current specs listed on our website are calculated based on manufacturer specifications with bare COBs as each model we build has different PPF outputs depending upon CRI, color temperature and the use of optics to name a few variables.

So what hes saying is, the numbers for their lights are made up based manufacturing specs. Kinda what I'm getting.
