If anyone has any doubt on what mites will do to a living thing I did a little experiment. This is a pic of 2 impatiens we have hanging. Same age, same conditions. They had a really wicked case of spidermites so I treated one but not the other to see how quick it would fuck it up. This is 7 days of untreated damage:View attachment 4239498

Horrible little cunts. Might hit this poor bugger with pesticide and see if I can save it now.
Fucken awesome that you showed that gd stuff
I mean I deal and eradicate mites all the time but to actually show it like that you done well man

I was surprised to look back three weeks and compare day 43 canopy, wasn't even looking like she was in flower! All I need now is for her to fill out over the next four weeks. I'm not unhappy for a first auto and first LED grow too.

did u end up switching to cobs? I think you said you did on another thread?
Not yet but I might have to get a cob to tide me over I'm obviously going to be looking at something more, but I'm hoping to hold off and get a ChiLED 200W DIY kit. However I strongly suspect that HLG may be putting out their quantum boards with extra red soon. I'd get those right now if they did that.

I wouldn't switch because I do like the viper's ability to change the spectrum as I will eventually be doing some spectrum tests just for myself. I currently have the blue at half power. Maybe there is a method in Vipar's madness of having such a large blue component, which goes against everyone else, I had the blue on full but then I got nervous and turned it down. The leaves were a bit of a limey green but when I dialled the blue in they took on a more indica dark green shade which I read somewhere that blue light will do.

I still reckon that the spectrum is still a black art and there are possibilities to micro manage. I've even been thinking how about if I replace the 4 hour dark period with 4 hours of solid red only? Unfortunately I don't have a control plant. At the moment I am suspecting that the high blue has helped the trichomes but again, I don't have a control plant.
