260 Watt Quantum Board LED Kit V2 Thoughts?

Hello all!

I have a 3x3 grow tent and I am thinking of purchasing these lights. I have been looking and looking and have narrowed it down to these. Does anyone use these lights and how do they work for you? There is just so many lights I just want to make sure i get the best ones for my situation. thanks!

Some of the 260 kits can hit actually hit 280+ watts, and at that power level, you'd be right at the lower threshold of what's recommended for your square footage. If you do go with the 260, I'd suggest the XW kit, for better spread in a square tent.

Search the LED section a little, bro. There are a lot QB related threads going on. Also youtube is a good source to find infos and see real world results. Pictures will tell you much more than words can do..
V1 was already top notch and with V2 you can expect even better results. F..k, I've seen +1,8g/w using 30w QBs per sft.
It this good enough for you..?

I think you will be very happy with a 260 watt kit. Canopy management would be key but i believe you will be more than happy with the light levels you'll have from a 260 kit in that space.

get a 315 cmh, you will thank me when you smoke the buds, it is significantly better spectrum wise than LEDs which produces better end product.
With you having a heavily ingrained deep seated hatred of modern tech efficient lights

WTF are you doing in a "260 Watt Quantum Board LED Kit" thread?

Are you shitting yourself about something?

I and my buddy have bought 3 x HLG 600 H QB rigs (600 or so watts). The output is supposedly between 1000 watt HPS singe end and double end.

This was from Growers Lights. The first order was Priority Second Day with signature request with a money order. It was a little delayed and Growers said sometimes USPS at their PO Box can be a little slow. I looked up there reviews for that post office. They are arguably the worst USPS post office in Texas! I think my next orders were not money orders for the cash discount and they were processed faster.

Growers Lights on the whole is very good. They may have gotten a little busy.

As far as QB's? My friend has run them side by side with 1000 watt HPS SE and they are just as good maybe be better. Less heat and 600 watts versus 1000 watt. The only weird thing is one of the QB 600-H is tripping a breaker on the main box almost like T8s can do. We have nt figures that out yet.

My friend also foolishly bought a 315 watt CMH for vegging, I think they are a waste. I am not sure if you also need to be extra careful with CMH with UV-B. They say they coat the bulbs to block UV-C which is supposedly very dangerous on your eyes and skin.

I personally do not like metal halide for veg due to the possibility of eye issues and skin cancer.

Install a 120 to 240vac converter and run the drivers at 240v. Its 3% more efficient and inrush current would be much lower. Breaker issues adé!

But he would get much less final yield, bro.
Better idea, add a 39w 3ft. reptile bulb to add the missing UVA "+" additional UVB. Power draw would be still below 315w CMH and he will thank ME probably hundred times when he smokes it, lol!

@Randomblame How would you outfit a 20"x36"x62" Tent for veg+Flower light wise?
Hmm! Thats ~5ft²! 175w would be already enough.
I'm a strip nerd and would recommend to use 3000°k Samsung H-inFlux Series, modell S03(44 diodes, 1ft. single row, 11,2v) or S04(64 diodes, 1ft. double row, 22,3v). 18pcs S03 strips(6 rows of 3) or 9pcs S04(3 rows á 3 strips), all connected in parallel + an HLG-185H-12A or H-24A would be 200-220w. S03 would be slightly more efficient like S04 because of more diodes(792 vs. 576). Its also easier to implement a 3ft. UVB bulb between 6 rows S03 strips if you plan to use one. With 3 rows its impossible to mount the bulb in the center.

You could also use a QBv2 260w-kit but I would order the kit with two separate slate heatsinks to allow each board to cover one half of the area.
Much easier, less wiring effort, no frame needed and you could adjust the height separately which is useful with different strains or when you use a perpetual setup and plan to harvest one half of the tent every 4 weeks.
Strips on the other hand allow a lower distance to the canopy which is more efficient(less watt, less wall loss, better coverage, better penetration).
Both setups have their own benefits and would probably yield the same.

Have you thought about a FOTOP 800 led board for that space.....?
@Randomblame will give you the correct answer though

Oh yeah, I forgot them!
Such a FotoP board would fit very well and you only need an HLG-185 and it would work completely without heatsink. Just one board and one driver. You can get these boards with 800 or 900 diodes, LM561c or LM301b and even if its not top bin the naked number of diodes are enough to compensate it to a certain point.
