holy crap. that's only an hour and a half from my house. road trip!!
@lukio i saw you are adding 660 to your qb. i have a question about that: is this to give the Emerson Effect? and isn't that some at 670Nm and some at 700+Nm.
then to my understanding, the far red is what you add at basically lights off to put them to sleep faster?
i've got cobs that i added supplemental actinic blues t5's to give me more of a blue spike which worked fantastic. now i want to look at the other end of the spectrum to see what i can improve upon.
seems like this thread gets lots of led experts. maybe they can chime in too?

nah thats far red for like 15mins at lights off or something...i'm keen on trying that, too. im just trying to boost photosynthesis rates i guess...
what did you notice? im thinking about adding a blue boost for the last two weeks of flower to increase thc. the science says it works so....

this was what i found for emerson:
The Emerson effect is the increase in the rate of photosynthesis after chloroplasts are exposed to light of wavelength 680 nm (deep red spectrum) and more than 680 nm (far red spectrum). ... The effect was early evidence that two photosystems, processing different wavelengths, cooperate in photosynthesis
i have 4 bulbs; 2 actinic blue and 2 super blue. the super blue dips into the UV range so you get that benefit.
the other thing i noticed was an almost lack of stretch when flipping to 12/12. took me 2 grows to notice that and let my plants get taller than usual in veg.
what surprised me the most about that farm in pueblo was that 90% goes to concentrates now. that's crazy but you got to follow the market demands to stay on point if you want to succeed.

well now im really confused! so whats the thing called when you give them 15 mins at lights off to speed up flowering? or is that the same?
another reason im trying more red is cause ive always thought the bud ive grown under any red heavy panel has been really fruity, man.
im pretty much doing a side by side so i'll blind taste test it this time, might all be in my head!
Super blue sounds interesting...being able to tame some wildly stretchy strains would be pretty useful, annoying if youre not expecting it! i have a few strains that dont stretch under led at all...
yup! its all heading that way, man...even in the UK people are really getting into the concentrates.

How do you feel about concentrates, bro? In comparison to flower, I mean. I just haven't really got into it myself. Could be my imagination, but I feel like the effect from flower has more legs - less intensity, for sure, but it seems like concentrates wear off too quickly.

hmmm at the mo im liking em, im just worried my tolerance is too high for weed cause ive been doing nothing but concentrate for a month or so...but suppose i dont really look for it when ive got full jars...and ive forgotten what that looks like!
i want a rosin press pretty badly...thinking about making one. greengenes has a wicked diy vid.
yeah i think you're right about the concentrates wearing off faster...now that you mention it...getting through it...lol!

i think they market the lights as initiators or something like that?
it's to speed up them going to sleep so you can run less than 12/12 i think.
