A nuclear bomb is a terrorist move. It kills indiscriminately and it was a known fact that dropping it will kill women, children and babies who represent no threat to anyone. Bad asses don't kill babies.

Do you think the My Lai massacre was a bad ass move too?

Our problem is people consider blind obedience to "authority" to be a virtue, even when it means killing innocent people for master.

The bomb was dropped as a dick measuring move, to show Russia what real hardons looked like.

Veterans Day should be changed to Victims Day to honor the innocent people murdered by obedient government stooges on both sides of every war.
Yes, yes, yes,

Wembly Whatisname said it and you believe it so it must be so.

yawn.

I care about my sangha. My "country" is not my sangha and I have no obligation to kill when asked. Even if my sangha ordered me to kill I wouldn't. I'd only do so in order to protect.

Killing violates the first precept. Which is why I don't eat meat, and refused to eat fish even though my doctor recommended I do so.

Even if killing meant prolonging my own life, I'd refuse to take a life just to save my own ass. How is that selfish or cowardly to accept another kill me rather than obey orders I kill? My death would be honorable and on them.
Im more american than herpes and hotdogs.. F you

So, you're still saying 100,000 men is a small force.

Brilliant. Just brilliant.
"Of the 21,000 Japanese soldiers on Iwo Jima at the beginning of the battle,"

It was a really good battle strategy by the Japanese. There are a few doco's on it from the Japanese perspective The didn't even challenge the landing.

True

The Japanese army contained a brave fighting force led by men who were willing to let them all die. Their strategy was to appall the US public and thereby gain negotiating leverage. It didn't work. We took heavier losses at Okinawa. We were ready to take more when we invaded Japan.

Which is why we dropped the Bomb.

The US people of that generation were badasses.

I think the Vietnam vets and the soldiers today are badasses too. Our problem is in our leadership not national willpower.
The bombs were dropped because Russia would of invaded Japan before the US could. People seem to forget that Russia was already close to invading the Japanese mainland and America was starting to distrust Russia. Dropping Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction is a shame America will never live down. Its why no country trusts America with Nuclear weapons- they use them..
Japan didn't sureender after the first Bomb..they didn't surrender immediately after the 2nd bomb..They surrender because they thought they had a much better chance of their culture (imperialism) surviving surrendering to America rather than being invaded by Russia.
Why would someone chosen by God care about their servants dying for them? It was something the Americans didn't understand.
Ended up being a smart move as America helped rebuild (what? they don't do that anymore!) and it became protected by America in later years.

All started over trade to....Japan attacked Pearl Harbour due to trade..

It is true that I was birthed on a tropical island and lived in a hut.

Of course some people question using the word "liberated" and still go with annexed or militarily occupied.

Even though you drank the military hoo - rah koolaid I still like you and forgive you.
On behalf of the US Military personnel who sacrificed their lives so you could have your birthing hut.....You're welcome

I'm not a coward, but going to war would bring me bad karma. If they want to kill so badly, I'd accept going in front of a firing squad instead.
No, you are just a coward....

Doss became the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Medal of Honor, for service above and beyond the call of duty during the Battle of Okinawa.....

What others do is none of my concern. Even non-combat roles are supporting killing. The only way to stop the war machine is refusing to participate at all.
