It is true that I was birthed on a tropical island and lived in a hut.

Of course some people question using the word "liberated" and still go with annexed or militarily occupied.

Even though you drank the military hoo - rah koolaid I still like you and forgive you.
American Patriots require zero forgiveness

He wasn't 'book smart' for sure. His HS diploma was a gift for his athletic accomplishments and local popularity.

They wanted a high value propaganda target drafted so they could tell others, 'look, Ali went'.

Didn't work. And an 8-0 SCOTUS reversal.
That only happens in the most obvious of cases. Some of that was based on illegal wire taps and abuse of authority. All white jury didn't bolster their pathetic case. The '60's were a rough time.

Ali is my favorite athlete of all time, we all looked up to him in HS. Especially after body bags started coming home and American Legions started being renamed to guys just 2 or 3 years older than us. It was a very ugly time for this country.
The govt learnt to lie better but the population didn't learn enough from it. Maybe that's one of the reasons the "Thank you for your service" was introduced. I'm sure that's a govt line that was deliberately circulated until the mainstream kept it rolling on its own.

Amazing how few Japanese held up such a large force. The Japanese commander and troops did a fantastic job.

It wasn't a few. It was right at 100,000.

In any attack, it typically takes a 2 or 3 to 1 superiority to win. We attacked initially with less than that (180,000), which is why it took so long.

That and the fact the Japanese fought to the death with very few exceptions. Only around 7,000 survived.

Japanese combat deaths numbered three times the number of American deaths although, uniquely among Pacific War Marine battles, American total casualties (dead and wounded) exceeded those of the Japanese.[11] Of the 21,000 Japanese soldiers on Iwo Jima at the beginning of the battle, only 216 were taken prisoner, some of whom were captured because they had been knocked unconscious or otherwise disabled.[1] The majority of the remainder were killed in action, although it has been estimated that as many as 3,000 continued to resist within the various cave systems for many days afterwards, eventually succumbing to their injuries or surrendering weeks later.[1][12]

no plausible circumstance in which the Americans could have lost the battle.

You're a coward, I'm certain there's a lot of things that's beyond you
That dipwad has a soggy colon, flat feet and type 1 diabetes.

First off, he is a coward and no way would he burn his card or refuse registering for the draft. He's not going to go to jail. He has no idea what he's saying, it's all bluster.

Second, in a time of national crisis, he'd come up with some reason why everybody else should march off to war but hide behind his medical excuse.

Third. He's a Russian troll. Look at the time stamps of his posts. 3 AM Eastern time is 11 AM in Moscow

True

The Japanese army contained a brave fighting force led by men who were willing to let them all die. Their strategy was to appall the US public and thereby gain negotiating leverage. It didn't work. We took heavier losses at Okinawa. We were ready to take more when we invaded Japan.

Which is why we dropped the Bomb.

The US people of that generation were badasses.

I think the Vietnam vets and the soldiers today are badasses too. Our problem is in our leadership not national willpower.

A nuclear bomb is a terrorist move. It kills indiscriminately and it was a known fact that dropping it will kill women, children and babies who represent no threat to anyone. Bad asses don't kill babies.

Do you think the My Lai massacre was a bad ass move too?

Our problem is people consider blind obedience to "authority" to be a virtue, even when it means killing innocent people for master.

The bomb was dropped as a dick measuring move, to show Russia what real hardons looked like.

Veterans Day should be changed to Victims Day to honor the innocent people murdered by obedient government stooges on both sides of every war.
