The asshole in charge said this afternoon that the United States would send as many as 15,000 troops to the border with Mexico starting next week, as he doubles down on his stance to stop a caravan of about 4000 walking migrants fleeing violence and poverty in Central America, that are not expected to reach the border for another month.

The numbers cited by shithead today are significantly higher than defense officials have disclosed previously, like the Pentagon said on Monday it was deploying more than 5,200 troops to the border but that the number could possibly rise. This morning it said more than 7,000 troops would support the Department of Homeland Security along the border, but more will probably end up going. Then Trump said this afternoon fucking 15,000 soldiers was more like it. Who knows what tomorrow will bring, 20,000, 30,000, maybe the entire fucking Army?

This guy is a lunatic, seeing as that's more troops than we have in Afghanistan ( THE LONGEST WAR IN AMERICAN FUCKING HISTORY, GET THE FUCK OUT!!!), Iraq and Syria COMBINED!!!!!

WTF!!!!

I really like the timing though, because if this doesn't show the American public before election day that he and the GOP in general need a kick in the balls to wake them up, and that he is off his rocker (except the Trumptards which will applaud it), maybe nothing else will.

I hope he sends 15K. This will demoralize the ones sent. Trust me. Military recruitment is in the bright red zone. Has been for a while. Each recruiter snags an average fish every 9 weeks. We pay some drunk sergeant 9 weeks pay to snag 1 sucker. Re-enlistments are way down. Send 20K.

The Germans who got to Poland just to see that their glorious thousand year Reich consisted of bullying and murdering Jews kept on going anyway

I imagine they’ll have no problem finding some very fine soldiers who’ll have no problem separating crying toddlers from their asylum seeking mothers and marching them off to separate tent city concentration camps for indefinite stays

You know what would change the world..
If trumpturd sent what ever amount of military to the boarder but armed with blankets, clothes, food, water, medicine. Work with Mexico and Canada to help some of these people with citizenship and refuge. Just saying what if he did that. Wouldn't it make for headlines, still something he could make about him. And it could change the world. Think it could happen?

Isn't that how "child services" and "government schools" work? They forcibly separate children from parents, via bullying (and guns) everyday, yet I don't see you mentioning that domestic abuse.

The really hysterical part is that they can't do anything other than service. They can't arrest or even detain anybody. They can't even have weapons on their person. All they can do is set up tents, serve food, provide health care and other services.

So you're assuming that a similar race / ethnicity and / or gender will stop military people from using force against other people who may look like them ?

Stanley Milgram did an experiment that shows many people obey "authority" first, not that it isn't already abundantly self evident. So then the question becomes why do people do that ?

I like to learn or teach depending on the topic.

The people meeting these migrants will obey orders. If somebody orders them to use violence, they will. Useful idiots rarely disobey.

The Trumpstool is desperately throwing everything against the wall to see if any of it sticks and is counting on the "caravan" and immigration to secure his power in congress. Diversions like sending troops to the border, birthright citizenship, lies like "we'll protect those with pre-existing conditions" and a refugee "invasion" are all designed to confuse and overwhelm "base" voters with hate and fear. Republicans always vote and always vote party line, with some exceptions in 2016. If he wasn't so loathsome, he'd have gotten those, too. No need to get the racist vote out, they'll vote. Expect post election fireworks when Mueller releases his report, right after the Roger Stone indictment. Fatman down.
