my guess would be nute burn and to get better nutes. I have heard that some plant tolerate the stock AG nutes and some hate them. Depends on the jeans.

Yeah, I think I'm going to switch over to Foxfarm. I like the idea better of Liquid nutes. Which foxfarm products should I buy? How do I flush the reservoir on the Aerogarden?

The Master Gardener Kit didn't come with any starter nutes just 14 small tabs and 18 large tabs. I germed in a paper towel with distilled water and then transplanted to the Aerogarden. I premixed a bottle of spring water with 2 small nutes and filled the reservoir with the whole gallon then transplanted my only seed that germinated. I'm not going to use spring water anymore since the ph is way too high. The pH on the distilled water is practically perfect 5.5 - 5.8.

So if I wanna get a few (hopefully all 7 pods) going with autoflowering plants will I be able to get it going from seed to full flower? Is it tough? Any tips?

has anyone experienced that there plants drop or lean after they change the res water...
I waited 2 weeks and just changed my water, i first mixed the 3 nutes(general hyrdo) into distilled water, i then dumped the old res water and quickly added the new water into the res and placed the top back on.

Almost instanlly my plantes with those beautiful white roots and strong leaves started to droop and lean over, am trying to take Buds advice and just chill and let the plants get use to the new water but was just curious if anyone else experienced this.

How often do you guys change your res if at all?

I'm bad at changing the res. Done it twice in like 6 months.
I use a pump/siphon and keep the top on. Having the roots exposed to air isn't a prob. (my ebb&flow tray is flooded for 6 minutes about 5 times a day. They are just sitting in clay pellets which really don't hold water)

Got the pH and ppm all set on the new mix? (also next time check the pH and ppm of the old water, could be a bit of a shock if its drastically different. just a thought.)

I haven't experienced what you have. And rule of thumb is to change res every 2 weeks (typical hydro) You do have an air pump/stone in there, no?

Wassup Bud, yeah man I have the air stone and pump, I checked the ph and ppm with my combo hanna meter so everything checked out well, I figured maybe it was just shock and they will get use to the water. They "seem" like they are starting to strengthen up again. I guess I will really be able to tell by tomorrow.

ps, i went and bought a second aerogarden at Big lots for 50 bucks after the 20% coupon and started growing 7 of my lowryder #2 seeds along with the 6 other bag seed plants going in my old aerogarden so hoepfully i can produce something good to smoke on in the following months.

I was thinking about just scraping the areogarden and getting a ebb&flow tray, did u buy one or just built it yourself? is there one you would reccomend?

I started about two weeks ago. I just changed my water yesterday and mine really perked up. I have three plants in an Aerogarden Pro 100. I use distilled water. I had a hard time finding distilled water. I found it at Safeway in gallon jugs, which make it ideal for measuring the Fox Farms nutrient. I started with Fox Farms Grow Big at half dosage strength. Yesterday I went to full dosage strength as per their directions. I'm growing Lowryder AK47. I didn't use the Aerogarden nutrients because I found most people on this and other forums recommend Fox Farms.

The Ag is great for cloning and mico-mums. :)

My Ebb/flow is nothing more then a plastic tub (18gal) for res and a cement mixing tray with the 2 required fittings, Air pump, and flood pump (cheap $10 one from harbor freight, the bigger/better one was too strong. Using that one to drain the res) I think total was about $35. But the shelf its sitting on was $80 Oh forgot the hydroton, add in another $35 for that, but I have enough left over for a second set up.
I'm just starting out with hydro and growing veggies for the winter to test the waters sotospeak.

yup. pretty much. I just keep cutting it down. Since it has big rootball, it grows back fast. When I want new clones, I just take a few otherwise toss the cuttings out.

Hey guys,
I just bought Foxfarm's Grow Big (hydroponic), Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom. I germed my seeds in a paper towel and transplanted to the aerogarden. I'm using distilled water and I have a air pump with airstone. I have the foxfarm feeding schedule, but when do you start using the foxfarm nutrients and what is the recommended dosage (i.e. what works the best)? A lot of people don't start nutes for the first two weeks, is that correct? I only want to hear from people who actually used the foxfarm nutes successfully. Don't reply if you never used or heard someone who used them. Thanks in advance!
