DIY cloner! Looking for feedback.

So after a bunch of looking around, this is what I came up with.
Shortly after it was done i realized that i couldnt find a video with the pump actually on, so I have no idea if the spray is enough or too much or not fine enough ect..
Just looking for feedback and if theres anything else I should think about changing.
Started with the rows spaced out, have enough to fill all the squares if i choose to later.

Can you turn the mister things and get a finer spray? So long as every cutting gets wet you're golden.
A tip...don't use any hormone gels or powders. It just clogs the manifold and besides the cutting creates its own hormone.

Theres a little adjustment screw on the top of the corner heads that may help with that, havent played with it yet.
The little red ones seem to be pretty fine though. Most of it seems dependent on the pressure
Without the cost of the pump i spent $40-50 total on it for a possible 36 site but it would really only cost the difference in the cost of the bigger box to make it much larger if wanted.

The sprinkler heads on the end im not sure I like. I made the corners threaded so i can change them. If i have to, i can cap them and put some red ones in the caps which would increase overall water pressure.

And a tip I would give you, is DO USE a hormone powder. It's at home depot. After you've cut your clones, scuffed the cambium layer, and whatever else, pull them out of your RO water(get them submerged instantly after cutting from mother and let sit for at least a minute) and dip them in this stuff.

I'd also add a bit to the water in the system for good measure. What you NEED TO DO though is use a filter bag on your pump. Regardless of using it or not. Those heads can clog WAY TOO EASILY and a filter bag will prevent this. Do not buy name brand ones. Simply search "micron mesh filter tea bag" on eBay and buy however many you want. They're incredibly cheap.

H2Oalone roots cuttings just fine in an aerocloner. Water is gold, unless you have stupid toxic water. Filter bags are definitely a plus if you do decide to use rooting hormones,or gels etc. Humidity in the cloning area IME plays a huge role in aerocloners' sucess rates. I've had 62 site units down to a 2.5 gal bucket unit with 10-15 sites. Take more than you need, drop em in, select the best rooters for the number of clones needed. K.I.S.S.​

Filter bags are necessary with such fine spray heads. Regardless of adding Anything to the RO water at all. And yes, i suggest using RO water.

I have also used those sprinkler heads along with the 180* ones with great results. Fragile u have a nice cloner, it'll do you well. It's a mini dwc chamber sans the airstone,cuttings blast outta the gate once u get root nubs. "HUmidity!!!!"

A word of advice, use a timer. 15on 15off. Don't spray constantly. If you can get a digital timer to do shorter intervals like 2 on/10off or whatever, that's fine too but 15 works just fine.

pretty much exactly what I do. Pay attention to temperature. I went nuts with this for a while until I figured out it was getting direct afternoon sun for an hour and was being cooked.
I'm currently running an experiment with going back to basics. about 75% perlite to 25% potting soil mix in a humidity dome. Was told about that early on but I think I just didn't understand things enough to provide a decent environment.
Love my home depot cloner but I also love simple and passive. We'll see how it goes. I used no hormone or anything, just aquaponic pond water.

lol..ok Airwalker, we can agree to disagree here on this point. RO is NOT "needed".The filter bags aren't necessary either. I have aerocloned with and without one. I have those exact red/blue sprayheads, well have used those, I use a combo of misters,spray heads now. Eh...don't wanna get into a pissing match. You gave a sound opinion and some great advice. My opinion is based of my own experience as well.

edit* Just so you know, I do use my filter bags when my roots get long or I am experimenting with rooting with bennies added. Also used when I have the lil red and blue 360* heads are as they clogged really easily.

Yep timer as well,although they will root in 24/7. Ya just run the risk of heating your water up a bit do to the pump and res size. I modified a wally world timer to 1 min 4 off.

I added a cheap $10 pond mister from amazon in a float. I do feel it upped my success rate. Anyone else try this? Thoughts? Doing more a dwc than op's setup now.

Yep timer as well,although they will root in 24/7. Ya just run the risk of heating your water up a bit do to the pump and res size. I modified a wally world timer to 1 min 4 off.

Would love the details on how you modded the circuit, model used etc. Sounds useful. Thanks in advance even if you don't recall, will be investigating.

We all use the same spray heads mate. And I'm not arguing at all. I'm just saying, why WOULDNT YOU USE a filter bag? All its going to do is benefit the situation and prevent clogging of the sprayer heads. I wouldn't run without one.
