@OzCocoLoco, so what’s the go with the DE? Can I just sprinkle a really thin layer on top of the coco? I’m STILL having a fungus gnat problem and I need them gone before they do damage to the ssw’s.
And what about when I repot can I mix it thru the coco.
I found heaps of info concerning it with soil but not with coco so I’m hoping you might know something..?

It's got to go on thick, its supposed to be like a barrier so if there's a tiny gap they can still find it. Problem is when it gets wet it turns into a slushy mess then turns into a hard layer when it dries and you can't get water through it. That's been my experience with it,Jeremy from buildasoil just vacs the layer of DE off the top when he waters then re applies it afterwards.
I don't worry about them too much,I just go around and vacuum the tops of the pots every couple of days that keeps their numbers down enough for me.

Was looking at using deta breakers and rcd’s from Bunnings (my eleco says theyre plenty fine) only issue I’m having is finding timers rated to high enough current with them all being limited to 20 amps which makes me suss on those Ebay boxes. I think I’d rather get a din rail built from scratch and checked by someone who knows better and isn’t after my money (only my beer).
The timer just operates the coil on a contactor

so I can keep everything in check in summer going to buy a humidifier, and those inkbird temp and humidity controller with data loggers, then I can just watch everything from my iPhone

IMG_20180908_230132477~2.jpg That's what I use, then just run from the contactor to a breaker and feed my outlets from the breaker

Only thing is it’s not the fliers I’m so concerned about it’s the lavae.

I don’t know if you saw the post I made where the Chrystal fell on it’s side after I untied it? So I can only put that down to them as they eat the roots. And now I can see a couple flying around each pot of the 5 vegging.

I’ve literally tried everything to get rid of them but nothings working, I even let the pots completely dry out yday which is no good in coco, hence resorting to the de. I just want them gone!!
